HOW TO CUSTOM DYE DIRTY WHITE VANS 

Wait but how does this work exactly? Do you mean using a piece of cloth soaked in alcohol to clean the dye off the rubber immadiately after taking the shoes out of the dye?

Edward Elric not soaked, just a small amount on a clean cloth. I did it after the shoes dried, and while it didn’t remove 100% of the dye, it removed most of it. I’ve always had good luck using it to get pen ink and sharpie ink off of my kids clothes, furniture, etc.

Pure acetone (nailpolish remover) also works great to remove excess dye

😂 fortunately in your case they can only get better

Use painters tape to protect the sole and use an applicator bottle instead of dipping the shoes and the sole will be protected. You can always paint the soles as well.

My stitching wasn’t dyed completely. It just kind of tinted it.

It’s super easy! I got the dye from Walmart. Only $3! They have a bunch of different colors.

You can but I’d definitely recommend using the entire bottle or the powder form and let it sit for a long time.

no i tried it and it didn’t turn black but i did this with my checkered vans and it ruined them also i reccomend wearing gloves because my hands were stained for like 3 days and also put like a water bottle in the shoe and use masking tape or water proof tape on the sole of the shoe because even the bottem part for me turned black.. i’ve been trying to get the black dye that now looks purple off of the sole and the bottem and the inside but all that’s doing is getting rid of the actual dye on the shoe and you can now see the checkerboard squares on the shoe again so:( if you don’t feel like doing it in a bucket just make it all in a disposable cup and then use a paint brush which will be super clean and easy

No. But you just wanna make sure you let the dye sit in you shoes for a few hours.

Make sure you rinse ALL of the dye out. I do this by putting them in the washer.

The color is black. I don’t believe I left them saturated long enough so after rinsing they were not pure black.

Powder is way better in my opinion. I don’t usually use the liquid dye
