Years ago, when I worked for Redken as an educator, I had the privilege to meet Sam. His passion and on-purpose intent as a trainer was and is second to none!

I used this technique on my bangs tonight and had an AH HA moment. I previously used the twist method by Sam Villa and that didn't work for me or the style I wanted to achieve. I wanted more of a thick blunt look. I watched many tutorials but all of them seemed amateurish. In this video, Sam breaks down the steps so easily. I thought, I can do this! And I'm not a professional and only have kitchen scissors! I did everything he said to do and Voila! My bangs are PERFECT! I love them so much I had to write a review. My two girl friends even said they looked great. I will never pay for a fringe now that I know the secret to perfect bangs. Thank you Sam Villa. =)

I appreciate that he says to make it longer than the client says. Every time I've gotten a hair cut, it's always two or three inches shorter than I would have preferred, thanks for the video! gonna try to do this to my hair.

Sam- thank you!! You are a genius! Didn't give muself too much credit as I literally spent few mins watching your video and gave it a try: honestly got the best side fringe I ever had all done by me thanks to the twist technique! Thank you!

Note about the "crookedness" Mannikin heads are not like the human head. The hair is imbedded in rigid plastic not a flexible human scalp. I am very sorry that Nadine has had horrible hair experiences forever.. As a hair desser and salon owner I always cut conservatively particularly in the fringe area. Sam Villa is one of the best educators in the industry and these videos are quick tutorials meant to inspire and lead hairdressers to seek out more education. I have had the chance to watch Sam work live on the show floor of several hair shows. Frankly I would hope many of you would have more common sense. I mean really how much can you learn in 9 minutes. But if you haven't been to school and put in the hours behind the chair don't judge.

If you use to start on the right and work your way to the left Sam, then you weren't paying attention. One of the first rules in hairdressing always start in the center so that your even both sides.
