great video. You didnt fly through it like a lot of people do cuz they already know how to use what they are showing you. For teaching videos the speed of your voice is perfect. You made it seem easy. At least easier than I initially thought. Hope you make more for the cameo. Thanks for take the time to share.

Great video thank you. Just so I understand let’s say I check the pink I put pink on my mat and that’s all it will cut than do the same for all colors? Also you need to get rid of the red cut lines first? Just confused with the line color can you just make the line color clear and than cut by fill color?

Yes. What ever is checked it will cut. You do not get rid of the cut lines. That’s what the machine reads.

This is a great video. I'm very new to Silhouette, in fact I'm just trying to learn all I can while mine is being shipped. This may be a stupid question, but could you possibly cut all of them at the same time on the same mat if you used 4 pieces of scrap vinyl in different colors on different sections on the mat? Obviously the pieces would have to fit on the 12 x 12 space. Would the software care that they were different pieces of vinyl in different colors?

You can do exactly that! Place the different colors of vinyl in different places on the mat and then cut. Just make sure your artwork is exactly where the vinyl is on the mat.

You we need black. Red. And white vinyl. Then cut each color separately. Then apply each color.

Yes. Cut each one separately. Transfer paper is a different process.

You can group them all together. Click each color while holding the shift key. Then when they are all selected. You can right click and hit group.

No. It just needs to be a vector file.

It is ungrouped. I didn’t trace it. It was already a vector image.

Pdf files are not vector images. So you wouldn’t be able to select different colors. You would need to convert it to an svg

You press each piece separately. So you have to line each one up while pressing.

Ante Up Graphic Supply I’m experimenting with flag fabric to make flags for off roading vehicles. I’ve embroidered on some and also pressed b flex HTV and easisubli HTV. Turned out good but I dont know if it’s possible to mirror that image on both sides of the flag?

You would really want to sublimate flags. I wouldn’t recommend vinyl.

If you are filling in with different colors what color vinyl are you cutting it on?

Each color is cut separately. So if I’m cutting the purple pieces, I load purple vinyl into the machine. Then I choose the next color, say pink. I then load pink into the machine and cut it. I would do this for all the colors til I’m done

What silouhette design edition do we need to do this?what do we need to do to get a holographic effect on the whole sticker? Do i need to get holographic purple and holographic black etc and then put it all together?

You can do this in the basic edition. The look of the sticker you are trying to make depends on the material you are cutting. So yes. You need to cut the purple holographic then the black and then put it together.

You would only use registration marks when you are doing print and cut. If you are just cutting vinyl, then you don’t need registration marks.

You need to save the illustrator file as a svg. You should then be able to separate it.

Highlight the whole design. Right click it. Click Ungroup. This only works if the image is a svg or any vector image.

Nobody explains what kind of vinyl, how to.layer vinyl...donu have to cut then just hope u can line them up correctly?? Nobody on any of these video explains it all...for someone new and not familiar w computers...not so "self explanitory"

First you have to make sure your image is an svg/vector image. Then you can grab all the same color with the select by color tool at the top of the screen( it looks like a paint pallet)

The silhouette software will convert a png to an svg when you bring it into the software. Just make sure your software is up to date.

Anyone have/had issues with vinyl cuts ?..just got mine yesterday and my cameo 4 will not read the registration marks from my pictures on pc... BUT! It works with the mobile app no problem...thing is that the mobile app doesnt allow you to do very much...especially layers which is a big deal for me..

@@AnteUpGraphics thanks for the reply ! Yes my cameo keeps says "registration failed"..even though the registration marks are very clear and visible on my pc .. The test cut will cut fine but the actual piece i want to cut it will just start looking for the marks ...it wont find it and itll stop.. Not sure if its the latest software update that has issues or if im just not doin it correct...although ive gone step by step from vids on utube and still nothing..
