I tried this tutorial during the pandemic and it was so helpful that 1. Babe doesn’t want to get his hair cut at the barbers anymore even tho they’re open now. 2. It honestly looks better than when he gets it cut ! I've been cutting my husbands hair for a few years now. This is the first time I tried the half circle method (clearly I've struggled cutting the top for a while lol) and I went up from a 2 to 3 for around the head and used thinning shears around the top for the first time as well and , he loves the cut using this exact tutorial. I grew up in a salon as the youngest of 3 girls. I was the only one that didn’t get there license. I wanted to be an aesthetician but got married and had my first son a few months later. I cut my than husbands hair for the 17 years we were married and cut my 3 boys hair until my marriage ending from one hit. My mom and sisters showed me a few things as I was always in the salon with them as I was way younger. I watch these videos now because it’s been a long time and my current boyfriend needs a cut and has curly hair like me. I learned things from you that made me cry. I can’t believe no one ever taught me that in my life. I know most all the techniques naturally. Some I know but never remember being taught just from a lifetime in it. There was a few things you said and did at the beginning of the video that got me writing this. Ps he loves you so so much!
@@alexacosta9563 I definitely need some practice, but it's not the worst haircut he's ever had, so I call that a win. I did a pretty good job on the top, but I wasn't great with the clippers. The hardest part for me was blending the longer hair on top with the hair I used the clippers on. Honestly, it looks fine, but after a couple more times I'll be much better. He thought it looked fine, so that's all that mattered to me. Good luck!
I have been cutting my husband's hair for 52 years - he just shoved the clippers at me and said "Do it!" But this was long before RU-vid and Sally's and Amazon so I just trucked on and he was content (Free makes him content!) This quarantine has given me oodles of time to search for tutorials and I love yours! I was doing lots of things right (and lots wrong!) Thank you for being so clear about everything. I will buy some Trimmers and those smaller sheers. Now I know how to section, blend the top into the bottom, and start from the crown and work forward. Thank you!
Okay so i went back to school about a year ago, and decided to start cutting my husbands hair to save money. I tried looking at videos at that time and there were some but I didn’t feel like any were beginner friendly. That was a super informative and simple to understand video, I loved it! I am a single mom with 2 teen age boys with super overgrown locks and have watched a dozen videos but yours was the most helpful. It was straighfoward enough that I feel that I can replicate your actions with less stress and fear about possibly hurting them or worse, embarassing them with the cut, lol.
This was really useful thank you! My son has the same curly hair and usually has the same haircut. It’s been seriously overgrown due to staying at home on quarantine and it was my first time using clippers. I had one issue that’s worth mentioning. If you kid/spouse/boyfriend has really curly hair that’s gotten really long, it’s a good idea to cut it back some with scissors and wet it down *first* before using clippers on the sides and back otherwise it’ll tangle in the clippers and pull. 😬

I came back a second time because I just gave my son his 3rd or 4th quarantine cut but the second time I followed your amazing directions. And I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you making this! I am getting pretty good. LOL I also shave my hubby’s with is easy because he has all shave, no guard. But my son has hair like your hubby.
I also touch up my sons eyebrows since they are growing a lot now that he’s a teen. I use a woman’s face razor (name?) and get the unabrow then I use a spoolie or a brush and comb them up and just trim the tiniest of the tips of them. Looks so nice. :)

Hey there, came back to leave you a message. So my teenager has been growing out the curly top (he is FINALLY embracing his curls) and has the shaved undercut like your man, well similar. His hair looks thick but it is very fine. I wanted to let you know I just gave him quarantine haircut #3 and because of your explanation of cut the layers in a half circle it looks soooo much better than the first few times. I shaved all around with clippers on a #2 (open blade I think you called it) and then used a comb and my shears to trim up and try to layer the top. I went in half circle rows starting in the back. The as I got to the top I just tried to make the layers in the front longer but trimmed a bit out of his eyes. It turned out amazing. Thank you for posting this video. Because curly hair is so forgiving I also went back thru and snipped the ends in different places because I don’t have the thinning shears like you do. After he washed it and I put some of my product that I use on my curls on his, OMG the definition was amazing. So again thanks! Wish I could post a pic here.
