This cut was insane Also been watching you for years now and your content is the best its been and your cuts have gone to another level your videos help and inspire me massively. I'm in a barber shop but still training to a high standard before fully being on the shop floor your videos have helped loads appreciate it.
I think even though you’re showing a step by step on how to perform this, there are still too many nuances. A template that I’ve seen work is to record someone inexperienced at cutting hair and you coaching them through it. That way you can get a first hand perspective of what mistakes we might be making that you can’t see, and we can’t communicate. 🙏
I think it doesn’t make sense cause we don’t know WHY he’s doing steps and its purpose. I’m taking DFS Year 1 course and it’s starting to make sense some of the theory to how this method works. It’s just something that we need to look into intricately to understand or have someone teach us it.
Dog groomer here 😂 my 12 yr old son won’t let anyone, except me cut his hair. This was so easy to follow! He was thrilled with the outcome! Thank you!!!
Sean you are super dope at cutting hair. Keep the videos coming especially the scissor cuts. But to be honest I know the babyliss weren’t cheap to purchase. But the blends aren’t coming out as good as when you use the rebels. 💯
I can’t blend the long to the short for the life of me! I always see a line. This time I ended up way at the top of his head and no where near the guide we started with…ugh I also can’t do scissors over comb.
Ok I have a question. How do you do this on someone with low density. I have a client whose hair looks really short with a one… I feel like maybe it’s not the best for him but idk?
So I got a taper I think skin because I said 0 and I tried telling mybbatber to not leave bulk on back and sides but he did. Can i go to another barber shop and tell them to cut the sides and back?. Will it look weird with the low taper that's already there?
Could you drop a tutorial maybe using the rebels and I’ve been watching for a while now any videos on hairlines and using shears like taking inches off the top using shears @seancutshair
I have a bunch using the rebels after I got them. Just been using the snaps recently. Should have some nice shear work in some of my longer hairstyle videos
I definitely appreciate the scissor work!! Keep it coming. I have been applying your technique when i cut and lord knows it has helped me out ALOT. We get all types of hair in our shop and i dont shy away from any of it. Im more confident when cutting straight hair because of you. Keep it up and keep it coming. Thank you 🙏🏽
Same! I've been cutting my boys' hair since their first haircuts. Now that I have teens, I need more instructions like this! I'm so glad I found this video! Thank you!
I personally love watching the shear work. Going onto 3 yrs barbering and i still manage to learn gems about how you teach shear work especially with the sectioning! Thanks sean!
Andis T24 is a game changer for barbers please 🙏 review will cut down on Scissor work dramatically and take 10 minutes off ure haircut and fethers better than a razor textures better than texturising scissors
Thank you for your channel. Technical question. I was wondering if you could offer more info on the fringe/bang area. I notice that cutting bang area from the front leaves a line to blend out via texturizing. I have been instead, pulling the hair up to cut it. Then pulling straight out of the forehead to texturize, then pulling it up again and texturizing but sometimes it still looks like Lyod from Dumb and Dumber. When I then texturize a bunch sometimes I loose the look of the bang line and it looks uneven. I have to go shorter.
Do you blend the heaviest part between the scissor work and the #4 guard on the side of the head at all with thinning shears or the #4 blends seamlessly into the first guide you put in with shears? It looks pretty blended, but wasn't sure if it was edited out for length of video. Thanks Sean!
I try not to do anything to it. It should sit right on top where the clipper work ends. If it is too heavy you always have the option to go in and refine it however you feel comfortable
Can you explain block graduation? I see you doing it on almost every cut and it works wonders, I just don’t really understand it. I see a lot of other barbers just using clipper over comb instead
So Im new to starting off with the blunt graduation, i don’t exactly get it. In my head it seems like it would make things harder as far as blending it out, or maybe its not, i dont know, i haven’t tried it yet. But im all about what i can do to make any cut easier & best quality! Would you make an in depth video on it or if you already have one what is it called so i can find it! & maybe a video on the bang area & the best way to go about them. As well as ones with the crazy cowlicks up front. Cutting the bang area for whatever reason had always been my only problem that i still get insecure about. Ive never butchered anyones but its the one thing i take way too much time overthinking
Think of it more for setting weight. You set the weight line then cut underneath with your clipper work. I don’t have a full in-depth video on it but most of my recents start out with block graduation. Just takes a bit to get used to it but try it and you’ll see!
I only clipper over comb if it’s a little too heavy. On a style like this most of the weight is going to end up styled in the top so the weight isn’t a problem
Thanks for this one! My 14 year old grandson likes this cut and I've been struggling with the the clipper work and the transition. I got my cosmetology license after 1500 hrs of education back in the '80s. We spent about a day and a half on clipper work. I didn't have the confidence to make it in the shop - I lasted about 2 weeks! 😂 Since then I've continued to cut my own hair and some family and friends, but always terrified of the clippers. Covid lockdown had me trying again as my husband likes a military cut and that means clippers! Anyway, I'm pretty confident with shears and believe it or not I learned point cutting and some other tricks back in the day, but I was struggling with this transition from long to short! You taught me a new approach and it really helped! Still struggling with the clippers but not giving up! Thanks for your videos - love all aspects and agree with the commenter about sharing your thoughts as you look at a client's headshape, hairlines, etc. All good stuff!
I would love a video about different patterns like a womens undercut patten I currently cut a women who has like love hearts but trying to learn more advance patterns and techniques Appreciate everything
Thank you. Great teaching video. I would like it much better without the music, as it is harder to hear you, and a bit distracing. Otherwise, great. Thank you.
@@Seancutshair thanks. Yeah, I go with, against, it just pushes it forward, almost like the teeth are too small for the hair to get into. If i push straight down on the hair, like setting in a line, it cuts sharp, if that makes sense.
My son doesn’t like anyone cutting his hair but me. I’ve taken him several places and he has gotten good haircuts but just isn’t a fan of the whole scene. This is the best guide I’ve come across to help me cut his hair the right way. Very thorough and thoughtful. You definitely have a new fan😊
Same with my son. He has a little anxiety about going to the barber or a stylist, and I have anxiety that I'm going to mess up when I cut his hair! I am so grateful to find this channel.
Keep up the shear work, it’s helping immensely for me and I’m sure for others. There’s already 10 million fade videos. Too many barbers are scared of the shear work and that’s what takes being the best to another level.
I’m just a mom trying to figure out how to cut my son’s hair where he and I both like it (I can’t stand the long in the eyes look and sloppy in the back). I’ve always cut my boy’s hair very classic, but he’s been wanting yo style it different so your intro hit me just right 😂 I don’t have all the best tools (like that trimmer you use for behind the ear), but I do the best with what I have. Wish me luck!🍀
Teach us about your Barber's eye. Nobody tells us what their thinking when they first look at a customer's head after the treatment/consultation, what head shapes make them think what and etc.
I’m a novice grandmother who is in charge my boys’ haircuts. (7&5) I’d like a video about how to cut hair with several cowlicks. One child has straight, fine hair, the other child has very thick , somewhat straight hair. TIA
I will always continue to watch your videos Sean. Maybe just do less talking for the intro and get more to the point, if that makes sense. You've helped me a lot!!!
I've seen tapers/fades million times. I enjoy the scissors! I would appreciate a tutorial on how to set guidelines for different haircuts. Like, when should you have a mohawk guideline? When should guideline go from side to side, and then removing peaks and valleys along the mohawk. I'm a complete noob, and hobbyist 🤣
