I’m here because i’m in quarantaine due to corona but i NEED.MY.HAIR.SHORT i am sick of long hair, and i’ll be stuck here for a while so hopefully i’ll cut my hair decently lol Edit: i’ve cut it today! It actually turned out pretty well! I finally have short hair yayyy i’m glad don’t have to wait until i’m out of quarantine lol

I just did this to mine using your instructions and it looks AWESOME! No one would be able to tell I did it myself! Cut off about 4.5” (I had to have my husband help remove the “point” in the back so it was all straight). I never want to pay for a haircut again! Thank you!!

so I did this because I'm in quarantine... and when I chopped it I totally freaked out but then it actually turned out fine so thank you!

I did this today and come out so nice! 85% Professional cut ✂ No one would even know I cut it my shelf. Sh... Dont say anything. But thank you so much! I needed this ;) Tips: The back will look longer so ask an adult to cut it, just thr back part. With scissors cutting up.. Vertical. And blend blend blend.. Until you get a both sides the same length.

I decided to try your tutorial. And I love it! My hair has had a grown out bob for about a year and a half now. I followed along with you and I cut maybe a half inch shorter than yours because my back layer wasn’t as long. I showed it to my husband and he was really impressed with how I did. Followed this video during social isolation and my hair came out beautifully! Had to tweak it a bit more and got some help from my boyfriend making the back straighter. Definitely needed the confidence boost with everything going on in the world. Most importantly I’m grateful with life for our health and praying for everyone else’s wellbeing.

thank you for making it look so uncomplicated. My hair was down to my waist, and in desperate need of a short cut. Well after watching your method, I did it like you showed here. It worked and it came out great! I was so tired of seeing all these other videos putting it in a pony from behind and bringing it forward. Your video is awesome. So i think your hair ended up looking pretty good in the end, but there are better ways to cut your hair that COULD be a little more difficult but still possible if you have a couple mirrors. I just finished my first semester in Cosmetology at trade school and i learned that the best way to cut hair is to do the back then sides(if you are doing a normal horizontal cut). So youd part ypur hair from right behind your ears to the top of your head and that will be your sides. Then the rest of the hair is the back, so put up the side parts and cut the back to your desired length. Then take the sides down and do the same. The reason thats probably the best way to do it is because when u direct all of the hair forward you naturally get a weird reverse diagonal cut(a diagonal cut is short to long, so a reverse is long to short) so some of the hair mostly in the back is angled weird and longer than in the front. I'm not good at explaining with typing so if it didnt make sense im sorry 😂 but you would probably get the best results by sectioning and cutting your hair like i just explained.

Okay I have tried it. I really underestimated how long it took. It took me about 1.5 hour! In the beginning it was really hard to cut while looking in the mirror because I am not used to mirror my movements, take this into account! Also the back is the hardest part. I cut my hair above my shoulder, so it is really short now and I am still not 100% happy with it, although I expected worse when I was a few minutes into it. So actually it turned out quite okay I think. Oh and one tip, use a water spray or some other water based spray to make your hair straighter, this really helped for me!

Thank u! This will show my husband for not letting me go back to the salon because he doesn’t like me getting my hair cut short! Also this is a better idea because I once had a hair dresser get nervous about me telling her what length I wanted my hair. She look at my husband & was nervous. So glad the last lady that did my hair had no fear & just cut my hair the length I wanted. Yeah my husband gave me a hard time about it, but I was happy & comfortable with my short hair. I just did this and it worked. My two cents: cut LESS than what you are going for. I took two inches off and it looks good. I wish i could have cut a tiny bit less but Im sure Itll grow back to the length i was going for within a couple of months.

I cut my hair before the social distancing to save money. I bought clips on amazon for $6 the help you cut your hair straight, and then use a clippers. My hair turned out really good with the help of this video!

Desperately needed a haircut right before Christmas and knew I wouldn’t get an appointment anywhere so I did this. I do my own color but could never figure out how to cut it myself until this video!! My hair looks great! So happy.

This method works well I would just recommend cutting below the ponytail holder. Helps get a more uniform cut the first time. Great job!

So happy to find this post!! Other self-haircut posts show cutting the hair after you comb your hair upside down and tie it, causing the hair close to your face to be too short. This method results in an even-cut hairstyle.

I did this a couple of days ago but I was worried because I already had a short fringe and long hair. But I followed this and got rid of the point at the back then added layers (following the other YT video you did) and it came out really well even with my short fringe! Even my Mum was impressed :) TY!!
