Honestly, panicking is looking weirder as well ! If you look confident, people won't bother at all ! People usually don't even care of what you're wearing and what you look like ! So be what you want !

This was a wonderful video Jo!! I wear lolita out at least once a week to go to university and I can also say that I have never had a negative experience. My advice is to just look at everyone you see as a past version of you who was interested in Lolita!! It's quite nice when you think of yourself as people likely first exposure to a fashion they may potentially be interested in! Additionally, if anyone asks what you are wearing- DO NOT SAY LOLITA. Say you are wearing a Japanese street fashion inspired by Victorian aesthetics so people don't get the wrong idea from the name. After that, you should have no problems :))

I agree. I say Japanese street fashion first , then inspired by Victorian and Rococo era and then if they ask more I mention lolita but say it has nothing to do with the book.

I love your headband, the teddies match your dress colors so well 😍 And your advice was perfect - just go outside! My tip: Wearing headphones and listening to music I like has always helped me not feeling so nervous about my surroundings when I’m wearing Lolita.

Oh yes, even now after 15 years, I wear headphones and I am in my bubble and I won’t notice all the stares and photos 😅

I went out in lolita the first time a few weeks ago, felt awful and even got a schizophrenic episode, but a lot of people complemented me and it slowly built my confidence. Thankfully I went to an alternative event, so I was not the weirdest one in the room haha, and seen other lolitas in real life for the first time!!!

As some say its with every fashion style out there where confidence isn't great. I started getting into like Decora Kei, Menhera those sort of things and as you said I think going in a group would most definitely work with me. Im shy, not very talkative person and would rather avoid contact with people, but I just want to get into wearing it!

I think when wearing Lolita in public while in group , an advantage part is , when somebody try to take a snap of photo sneakily , there is a front part of the group that can confront a person that try to take photo sneakily

I am usually more comfortable ignoring the sneaky photos than entering in arguments or verbal fights with her photo taker like I have witnessed being in a big group. I think it gives lolitas a bad reputation.

I went out in Gothic Lolita a while ago, Not even overly in-your-face or anything, and the lady in the shoe shop i went to looked me Up and down and Said "Daring, gurl" and i was Like wtf its just a black Dress. Well i know i rocked that Outfit so i didnt Care, and neither should any of you fellow Lolitas!

Great video. Here's an idea for a future SOS video, the sweet lolita that doesn't eat sweets. Tea parties and meet ups rarely if ever serve healthy options

Well, it might not really fit in the format of a beginner lolita who has a problem and calls the hotline and I help them. What you suggest is more I help the tea party place to change their offerings which doesn’t really fit in the format of SOS Kawaii.
