In this video we take a look at how you de-register and Factory Reset a Google Nest Audio. Typically you would perform this action if you intend to decommission, sell or give away your Nest Audio.
Notes: In order to correctly deregister a Google Nest Audio, the device needs to be connected to the internet. Also that by Factory Resetting you're Nest Audio, you will be removing any settings, applications and data that may have been stored on the device.

Simple, but brilliant. Only thing that would make it better was a marker on the point where the solution is solved. Speaking only for my (anecdotal) self, I know which buttons I can push. Therefore, I simply need the “codex” that details which “magical” order said buttons need to pushed to unlock the reset. Very good video, mate; cheers!

Can't find Nest Audio in Home app. When turning off the mic I'm not seeing orange lights and I can press the top forever but no restart?

If only this had a, change your WiFi settings, in the option. Apparently it doesn't and the only way to change networks is to factory reset it....

What am I supposed to do if I do not have it connected to WiFi? We moved and found out we had to change internet sources completely so I have no way of connecting it to a new WiFi?

As long as you know the details for your Google account. If you factory reset the Nest Audio, and then set it up through Google Home. When as you set it up, you will be asked to enter your new network wifi settings. As long as you activate the Nest Audio using the same Google account details you should not have any problems. I did double check this advice, and have conformation from this Google support article - support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7170507?hl=en-GB#zippy=%2Cif-your-speaker-or-display-isnt-connected-to-a-wi-fi-network

Mine is totally unresponsive and won't even factory reset. Second time this has happened. If you want to return it google makes you pay full price to get a replacement. Then only after shipping back the broken speaker (at your own expense) you'll get your money back and it can take over a month before they give you your refund.

This didn't work for me. I tried the "physical" reset by disconnecting/reconnecting 10 times, but it's not working either. Could you do a video on how to do this properly? It's like the speaker is just non-responsive.

How to change the wifi on a Google nest speaker

According to Google you can reset a devices wifi from with the Google Home app. - support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7170507?hl=en-GB " If your speaker or display is already set up on a Wi-Fi network but you need to change your Wi-Fi password or connect it to a new network, you'll need to forget your current Wi-Fi network and set up the device in the Google Home app again. 1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app. 2. Tap and hold your device's tile. 3. Tap Settings Settings and then Device information. 4. Tap Wi-Fi and then Forget this network. 5. Return to the Google Home app home screen and follow the setup steps above to connect your device to a new Wi-Fi network." However, as I always seem to get the following message: "If you get an error message that says 'could not communicate with your [device]' when you try to forget your network, or the steps above don't work, you'll need to factory reset your device and set it up again." I usually just factory reset and then set it up again from scratch. It saves me time in the long run.

These speakers are trash. They need to be really close to an access point and have line of sight to work. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but I bought a pair of them earlier this year to play music in my dining room. They were set up less than 25 feet from the WiFi access point and they frequently disconnected to the point of being useless… I just tried again. This time it’s around fifteen feet away from an access point but defeated by an interior wall being in the way. I’d say don’t buy, but if you’re watching this video chances are you already did and are having the same problem I am.
