How to Deactivate or Delete Instagram account

If you want to take a break from Instagram or permanently delete your account, you can follow the steps below:
To deactivate your account:
Open Instagram on your phone or computer and go to your profile page.
Click or tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
Select "Settings" at the bottom of the menu.
Click or tap on "Account."
Scroll down and select "Temporarily disable my account."
Choose a reason for disabling your account from the drop-down menu.
Enter your password and click or tap on "Temporarily Disable Account."
To permanently delete your account:
Go to the Instagram account deletion page on a computer or mobile browser. You cannot delete your account from the Instagram app.
Select a reason for deleting your account from the drop-down menu.
Enter your password.
Click or tap on "Permanently delete my account."
Your account and all its content will be permanently deleted, and you won't be able to reactivate it or retrieve any of your data.
Note: Before deleting your account, you might want to download a copy of your data from Instagram. This includes your photos, videos, messages, and profile information. You can do this by going to "Settings" and selecting "Security" then "Download Data."
