@@mlgkaju208Alternatively kill the bear at day and (depending how long you’re into the game and how long the corresponding respawn time is) during the next aurora the Aurora bear won’t even show up.
There is another way but as most things it comes with a cost. Fall into open water and the bear will no longer be agro. I had my accidental discovery of this about 4 years ago at desolation point, living on my little island with the rabbits.
For anyone playing on console, I’d hope it works for PC but idk, should be added in the game anyway. But if you unload your gun in the inventory, then reload it without so it does the animation. You can look 360 degrees all around and see if anything is around you or not. I found it on accident and has helped me a lot. Maybe it only works in cars and in the backseat only place I’ve done it but I’ve done it a lot
I dunno if I'm lucky or what, but I've played the game for about a year now and only came across one aurora bear, I've killed many A wolves but the ONE A bear I've encountered I just fired my rifle, it dropped
Crit shot to the head, or a heart shot, but that's pretty hard to land, so I'm assuming you were aiming for the head. Either one will drop it in one. Crits become more likely as your rifle skill increases.
I had the same experience. Figured that old .303 still kicked like a mule. Figured that was going to be par for the course. Queue me "bear hunting" by walking right up to one, shooting it in the face, gets mauled, and then killed by a wolf like 20 steps from my base 😂 that was my longest run at nearly 92 days
