Best is to slightly inflate the costs then give a discount on that....doctor and patient both will be happy. Bargaining is a psychological aspect. When a patient can spend 2000 on just a dinner in a restura then he can easily pay that amount for a health treatment.
I don't bargain. Because once you start practising in this manner you will never know where to stop. If a patient comes in BMW you don't increase your price, so why to reduce the price when a poor patient comes. Keep it reasonable. If a patient undergoes heart surgery or any other major surgeries which cost in lacs, they never bargain with the surgeon or hospital. It only happens in dentistry because they don't think teeth as a vital organ of their body so they don't think spending much on teeth is worthy. Never negotiate with patient. Keep your cost fixed as it puts bad impression of you keep bargaining like vegetable seller and spoil your name in the vicinity.
