You will learn how to haggle and 8 of the best negotiation strategies and tactics to bartering in this video! The definition of haggling and the meaning of barter is: dispute or bargain persistently, especially over the cost of something. There are many reasons to learn to get a better deal, but most people don’t want to because they are afraid the techniques will step on the seller’s toes or offend them in some way. Here are 8 simple methods to get a better deal without offending the seller, using some simply psychology and the art of negotiation. No salesperson will toss you of the shop out for requesting markdown, as long as you do it in a well-disposed and gracious way. There are tons of tips you could take and use properly when trying to get a better deal, but use the tips in this video to ensure a quality trade. Deals are there to be done, particularly in an emergency. If you see someone needing money on a Craigslist ad or Facebook post, you are at the advantage. Make sure you shake the seller’s hand and thank them for the purchase. If you’ve read How To Win Friends and Influence People you know the importance of using a person’s name to gain a liking bias towards you, so use this to your advantage!

WARNING; The salesman (cars) may ask very seemingly innocently right off the bat “how much do you want to spend?” Though it seems innocent enough, it is a trick. He now knows how much you’re willing to spend and can hold the line at that amount or more because you’ve already said you’re willing to pay that amount. Instead answer “as little as possible.” It seems obvious now that I have pointed this out. Not so obvious when you walk in and he asks you this off-the-cuff.

I would say "money is not the problem". I want value for money. Show me what you got. Give me your best deal. I will take note of that and come back after my survey to buy from you. That will put the sales person under pressure.

Another tip I have found works well is to use the word "Help" towards the end of negotiation - Help me out here/ You would be really helping me here make my dream to own this car come true etc. People just love knowing that they have helped someone.

+Vinayak Garg Hey! This is a great tip! Thanks for your thoughts, I'll upvote so others can see! :D
@vtn08
@vtn08 7 лет назад
It also can be counter tip. "Help" might be a sign you are desperate to buy that product especially in the case of a negotiation which gives the seller more indication it is worth more to you than other people would buy it for and would be unwilling to reduce the price for you.

- You need a value that makes the seller and you happy - Find a fair price and substract 10-30% - Build rapport - Nu. 1 thing to do is; ask their name and use it - !!! - Talk about anything just talk and make them like you-not to short to not break the ice but not to long to don't know why you're here - Find things you have a common interest in - Have some good time and form a friendship - Wait - Persistence is key - Don't even say the price in the first 5 minutes - Let him teach you (doesn't apply for every salesmen: prepare for the worst scenarios and learn as much as you can about the product to avoid scams) - Play dumb - Stand your ground - Get to know the person, why they sell it-their motive - If they need e.g. 50$ (alternate factor)-that's the lowest price - If they steamroll the product, they may hide something - Quick deals can lead to buyers remorse - Numbers - Never give your price floor (highest or lowest you're willing to pay) - Try to say a price for the first time that's almost annoying but not offensive - Try 80% off-may seem like a scam and they'll likely say no; but if you say a higher you will be wondering what was the lowest price - Low enough to say no but not offensive - Silence is important! - After you asked for a price, make sure not to say anything else until they talk - Don't be scared by silence in negotiating - They'll probably think for a couple of seconds-'ll be uncomfortable but resist the urge - Body language - Smile - Toes pointed towards them - Remove object between you - Shake hands after you said hello and after the deal is done - Get out of jail card - Have a permanent, immediate reason to leave - Like kids, wife, doc etc. - Some may will ask for the lowest price you are willing to pay - Say "As little as possible"

1) For big items, go at the end of a quarter when the salesman is more interested in moving units rather than price. 2) Allow a few days before the quarter’s so you can WALK away. The ability to walk is the most powerful position to be in. Go elsewhere to buy. Always act like you are about to walk. 3) Before hand, RESEARCH. Consumer Reports, Google, ask competitors about why their product is better- one helluva eye opener! Gives Q’s to push back on the salesman. 4) when you walk in announce that you are there to BUY that day. They will happily take seriously. 5) NEVER NEVER NEVER fall for the question: “about how did you want to spend per month?? Say “as LITTLE as possible.” If you give an actual number, you are FUCKED. They will get it out of you. They do it for a living. 6) Practice on saleman over and over before you buy. It gets fun. 7) Enjoy

it's a real luck to get it at half the price since at fairs they don't even care if you would not be liking to pay even 110 bucks. They have ample sales and won't even bother letting anyone bargain and expect you to pay as much as other are readily paying.

Well businesses or people usually aren't selling the product at the price its worth, they mark it up to a price that will get them a reasonable profit, without most customers complaining. You're already being taken advantage of in a way, but you see it as ethical because it's standard.

I’m in the middle of doing that right now super easy just don’t come off desperate but if you really want it, shoot them a time that you would like to go see it then if they’re super eager, you’ll have room to haggle if they act like they could care less than its some thing they really probably want to just stand firm on since they don’t have a rush to selling it. Be careful there’s so many scammers out on there. Make sure they have a high percentage selling rating .
