I myself am a very heavy puncher and I fight on the inside my cover game is in the excellence, It took me a decade at least just work on that if you go inside in deep you have to make your opponent feel surrounded I’m only 5,7 this is something to work on and it can take years to develop it! But once you do you can be devastating no matter the size of the opponent, and not every punch asked to be hard if you are a heavy puncher take your time measure block find out your opponent know him respect him.

I think there is no general solution to heavy hitters. The best thing about fighting against them is to see your flaws in defence or in counters, and try to improve them in the future period.

Yeah i sparred a 20+ dude and I’m just 16 and he was throwing nothing but power punches, there was this one time he caught me with a straight and i wobbled and shit. Is it a okay for him to do that or should I say something

Fury did what you suggested in his rematch withn Wildder, he said he gave Wildder too muuch respect and time in the first match and just went after him in the rematch and it worked for him, do you think AJ was too scared of Ruiz`s power in their rematch? he seemed very gun-shy to me.
@expertboxing
@expertboxing 4 года назад
I don't think AJ was scared. He just knows what will happen if he gets close. So he stayed away.

Let him tire himself out, big punches most times take big amounts of energy unless they have the endurance along with power..... Then u r in for a bumpy ride OR u can watch this video
@expertboxing
@expertboxing 4 года назад
Yes, can also try putting a guard and let him tire himself out but that usually only works if you stay calm. If you're nervous, you'll burn even more energy than him even though you're doing nothing.

@@expertboxing I got my first heavy bag about two months ago. For three years or so, I just punched the air based on how you taught the jab and cross. I am glad I practiced so much in shadow boxing (minus footwork and ducking) because the heavy bag very quickly creates bad habits, like leaning into the punch instead of being balanced. But the bag teaches you that a punch is more than a flick. I've been engaged to a Filipina for four years now. I've been sick for years now. Waiting on the Lord Jesus to make things work out for us.

I have a problem with landing punches when I'm on the offensive because they often get dodged or don't reach my opponent but I don't want to be too offensive and get too close in case I get countered. Any tips for closing distance or landing combos without getting countered?

idk the best thing I can think of from my experience is bait them into specific shots and openings (ala Lomachenko and Mayweather), forcing them to do shots that they have a habit of tossing everytime you do certain actions. Makes the fight less worrisome. Really that is a tactic that works in any fight, but I like to be an active counter puncher/kicker soooo idk.

Punch first and Counter punch or block then jab jab and hit them in the ribs over and over or once super hard, done ✅
