Fantastic video! I have a gel allergy that burned my nail plate and I also have a nail fungus that I am currently treating from my physician with ciclopirox 8% nail lacquer, I am almost 4 weeks in treatment and the fungus is almost gone, so anytime I can find nail allergy information, I click on the video, awesome information!!!

Hi personally im allergic to anything containing Acrylate. Which is whats in glue or fast curing products. I realized when i started becoming allergic to lash extensions as well where the adhesive also has acrylates

When you test do you use all new uncontaminated brushes and bowls and files and drills and such? I’m allergic to acrylic and HEMA and I just found a few new products and I’m going to try but I have to replace or get all new everything so I don’t cross contaminate the test. You are so nice to do this for a client !!

I used the same brush for all the acrylic applications. Just make sure you thoroughly clean any brush bristles (I used acetone). The files, drill bits and such shouldn't be a problem because they aren't coming in direct contact with the nail plate/nail bed. Once the enhancement is on, it's mainly only touching that so you should be fine. If you wanted to take precautionary measures anyway, just wash everything with soap and water and disinfect before trying the new products. Hope this helps! Same issue with me😢 I have allergy with everything any kind of nail products 😢 itchy hands blisters on fingers cracking skin bleed and skins turns black⚫️

Me i ask?? How about my case because I'm a nail technician also. But i never do in my nails.. i noticed that every time i did gel polish to my client even without touching on my skin.. why I'm still having allergic reaction? Is it possible also the strong smell of the gel polish by inhale or can adopt into your eyes still can cause of allergic reaction? Because i noticed that all my hands are itching and all fingers swollen. And watery.

As a nail tech we are even MORE receptive to becoming allergic to an ingredient(s) due to over exposure. I dont think a smell only will cause an allergic reaction. I seems like you are allergic to something in the gel polish which is causing a physical response. Try switching brands, wearing gloves and NOT touching it ever with your hands. Also take a look at the ingredients and note if you try a different brand and have the same reaction, see what the common ingredient(s) are. hope this helps!

Hi, thank you so much for your video I really appreciated it as I have pretty severe allergy’s to gel and well I went to allergy doctor has patch test done (it’s a terrible experience of severe itching all over my back for several days) anyways I found I’m allergic to the following: What I reacted to: 2.) 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate -pet-2% 3.) 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate -pet-1% 5.) ethyl acrylate -pet-0.1% 6.) 2-hydroxy-ethylacrylate-pet-0.1% Do you know if I could still have nail extensions? I’ve found I really like full cover tips and I’ve been adhering using dip systems base liquid. I learned the hard way about young nails Bonder and got it out of my house immediately, my reaction varies I notice my skin around fingernails will go bright red with no itching and no blisters when I use dip powder systems but it only reacts when I use the activator I tested it out with OPI & Kiara Sky, with Joya Mia I don’t react as bad. However now that I watched your video I never thought to look at what ingredients are in the powder so now im going to pay attention to that. Sorry for long post, would you know with those allergies what products I could try? Thanks

I'm so sorry you react so bad with products. It's hard to really say- As mentioned, reach out to the company and get the MSDS for ANY products you want to use. To be on the safe side- show your doctor and he/she might be able to help you understand the chemical composition and breakdown of the sheets if you don't understand them. Hope this helps & good luck
