How to deal with the "Anti-London" Opening 

I started playing London after IM Eric Rosens St Louis video, I Rose to 1900-1930 from 1750-1800 on lichess 😍🤩

so this is the anti-anti-london?

Is it true the London System is named after Mr. System?

I'm playing the Old benoni (1.d4 c5) for a long time and glad I didn't had to fight white with eric's recommend line after accepting the pawn. Now gotta prepare an anti-anti-anti-london for my prep *evil laughs*

Can you maybe do a video on the "general rules/ principles in chess", you sometimes mention for intermediate/advanced chess players ? Like in this video you say like "when you have more space, you shouldn't trade minor pieces", or like "a center pawn is worth more than an other pawn" and stuff like that. Or do you maybe have a video, or a list of principles, that can be found somewhere on the internet?

Can you do a video on how to play against the London? Can't find that many on the topic. 2.c5 is The line I want to see!

I have played old Benoni for a year. I play it religiously. I think the most challenging move for black is actually d5. The line is d4 c5 d5 d6 c4 f5 Nc3 Nf6 Bg5 e5.

I am fascinated of the London, but still not sure if I should learn the London as a secondary line, because it seems it is much harder work than it looks at first sight. There are so many complicated black systems out there like in every other opening. Like Georgievs favorite line (from his recent book) looks annoying. 1.d4 d5 2.Bf4 Nf6 3.e3 e6 4.Nd2 Bd6 5.Bg3 0-0 6.Bd3 b6 with the idea of a later Ne4 and f5 Or Georgievs line versus 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bf4 c5 3.d5, where he proposes 3...d6 4.Nc3 e5 5.Bd2 e4!? to open the KI bishop diagonal. Also Wesley So's line with quick cxd4 with Nh5 is interesting and highly complicated, much analysis needed. And I dont understand, why are all the White players are not annoyed when Black transposes to Caro-Kann exchange lines with cxd4 when possible? I dont understand why so many people say, its an easy to learn opening, when its clearly not :)

I like 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bf4 c5 for Black. I've had several blitz games where White found 3.Nf3?! cxd4 4.Nxd4?? e5! and Black wins a piece (5.Bxe5 Qa5+). Probably best is 3.d5. Also possible is 3.e3, when one line is 3...Qb6 4.Nc3 Qxb2 5.Nb5 Nd5! 6.Rb1 Qxa2 7.Ra1 Qb2 8.Rb1 and the game will end in a draw by repetition.

I would very much like to find out in your editorial office about the rare second moves in the Scandinavian defense.

What about the Q5 to threaten C5?

Eric if you coukd should show what you play vs the modern, pirc, and dutch that would be great.

The biggest problem for black after 1.d4 you never know what white will play at second move Bf4, Nf3 or c4. That's why is hard to choose first move for black.

Nice video, even though I don't play the London anymore I will consider 2.dxc5 against the Old Benoni. Still I think the Anti-London is 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bf4 d5 3.e3 c5 4.c3 Nc6 5.Nd2 Bf5 6.Qb3 Qd7 or 6...Qc8 and after 7.Nf3 c4 8.Qd1 b5 9.b3 b4! So 7.dxc5 should be considered for white there

at 2:40, why would black play e6 when they could move Qa4 and win the pawn?

Ever since your initial London video, the opening has become so well known.

Alright, this is probably dumb, but what about... 1. d4 e5 2. dxe5 g5 Queen guards g5. f4 looks fine maybe, but I assume Black's plan is so awful that it was beneath being mentioned in the video, i just don't see it that far yet. :(

I played D4, C5, D4xC5, Qd8-A5+, Nc3, e6... I don't know where to go from this variation.

@Eric Rosen, after 1.d4 c5 what do you think of 2.e4? If 2.....cd, then 3.Nf3. My idea is to get a normal Sicilian which I love to play for both sides. I have always been a 1.e4 player, but I started considering the London or something similar in order to avoid 1.e4 e5 which I find to be mind numbing and very boring.

I'm stupid so I don't get it: what's undesirable about 1.d4 - c5 2.c3 ? Eric said "black can take immediatly with ...cxd4. But what's "bad" about that?

What if the anti-london player does a very defensive pawn movement such as b6? is it just objectively bad?

Question, why play Bb5 when white prefers not to trade and just plays Bd3 anyway?
