Your comment "make peace with your style" really resonated with me. Having had to give up my corporate job 3 years ago for health reasons took away some of the pleasure I derived from clothes and getting dressed for the day. I have had to "make peace" with the fact that I now live in casual clothes all the time. Finding and accepting your personal style if your life dramatically and unexpectedly changes can take time - it's almost like going through a grief process.
I think my problem is, that I'm too easily influenced. Like, when I think I decided what I like to wear, I see someone with another style and all of a sudden I feel THIS is the way I want to dress. And than it starts over 🙆🙈
As I realized a few months ago, that I have plenty of clothes for my dream life which are not fitting in my real life (always on my bike or feet, part time office work with casual dressing code, often at home with the kids, doing home and garden, not very often going out. So I gave away a lot of these dream life clothes. But I hold on on a few pieces for special occasions where I can express myself and living a bit of my dream life 😃 take care 💙

I call my system “Static & Thematic” (static being the year round basics) Fall Style: Warm/Woodsy/Cozy Colors & Prints: Rust, Brown, Olive, Camo & Plaid. Winter Style: Festive/Glam/Classic. Summer Style: Nautical/Edgy/Beatnik Colors & Prints: Red, Navy, Distressed Denim & Graphic T’s This system keeps my wardrobe new, fresh, fun and prevents shopping.
Thank you for this. I have been watching your videos for a while and my style is gradually evolving and becoming less confused. Much more honest now about what I really wear and feel like "me" in. I used to wear a lot of bright colours, but now feel so much better with muted shades..
Yes yes yes!!! Finally identifying my style and saying it in a few words PLUS nailing down a color palette has made me feel very confident in my style choices! I have season and body changes galore (due same time as you!), but still feel like I’m dressing true to myself. You’ve helped me a lot with this, and the book The Curated Closet. 🤗
I really appreciate you addressing secondary style directions. I don't hear about this from other stylists but I see it everywhere, in myself, and in my friends. We are not just one thing even though we have a primary direction for our style. Great information as always!

Everlane’s Day Heel has been one of my go to work shoes for years now. Comfy, can be formal of casual, flattering to the feet, and goes well with almost any look.
Great tips! Really pinpointing your style and preferences does help you a lot in being more mindful of your purchases. I bought the book called The Curated Closet, which has all these tips is super detail, and it has really been helping me to take these tips from concept to reality. I’m not even interested in things that don’t fit my style now! :)
I think figuring out the colors that suit me was really key, and I'm surprised Influencers don't talk about that more. (Some do, but most don't.) I would buy turquoise because I liked how it looked on the hanger, or bright pink, or whatever, but finally I watched a video that explained to me why my skin tones REALLY didn't work for that, and after that, it was a lot easier!
Thank you for this interesting vlog. My style is very minimalist, (neutral black, grey, )but I always have added a statement necklace, a great pair of boots/shoes handbag and/or a scarf. ( I only make ONE statement at a time ha ha) Since Covid finds me now at home, I don’t want to wear my accessories around the house, have worn the same naot sandals all summer and used my straw crossbody for rare ventures out in my car (curbside pickups). I did know my style but I now feel completely style-less!

This video is perfect for me. In my head and in my wardrobe I have a few styles, however, I seem to always wear the same style and seem to be hanging onto clothes I rarely if ever wear just in case. My logic brain says I should declutter these clothes and since retiring from an office situation one year ago, it is most unlikely that I will wear some of these clothes again. I need to be realistic now! Great video! 😍

just been decluttering my wardrobe today, made a basic one for all year round, but struggeling with the seasonal/special occasion items. I have too many I still want to hold on to because I like the colour and/or fit, but I don‘t wear them very often... can‘t seem to part with them though. Do you have a tip for me (especially concerns some dresses which I really like and look good on me, but I hardly have any occasion to wear them to).
I think it’s always important to distinguish clothes that should never have been bought from “passive” clothes in your wardrobe. That means clothes you absolutely love but just don’t wear that often. These are totally fine to have some of in my opinion but just make sure they don’t take over your wardrobe and makes it feel overwhelming. Also, maybe decide for yourself if you could try building up some confidence to wear these dresses more often if you love them so much. It sounds like something might be holding you back? 🤗 but if not then it’s always hard to come to the realisation that maybe you have too many and you might need to let some of them go. Storing them away and getting them out of your wardrobe (remove the distraction) could also be a solution. Hope some of the solutions might help you! xx Signe
Use Less thank you so much for your tips :) I think you might be right about the me holding back part, for some reason I’ not as comfortable wearing dresses or skirts to work. I‘ll try to wear some of those dresses more often and combine them with some leggins and my Doc Martens or my biker or denim jacket to make them look more edgy / casual. @@lindap1767 put those work friendly skirts and dresses in a rota. Challenge yourself to wear them 2-3 times a week for the whole month. If some of them don't feel right to you/can't match them well, get rid after that month (or 2)
