Make sure that when you put the brushes on the towel to dry the bristles are pointing downwards so that any water trapped in the base doesn’t go backwards into the ferrule and grow mold.
Can I just say I love that you filmed this in a normal bathroom? The faucet is older and not "perfect" or updated to todays standards. It's a normal faucet and I love that!! Love your channel and your family. ❤ Also the wallpaper makes me almost want to get that wallpaper for my bathroom. It gives me Disney world vibes somehow.
I clean my brushes with a solution of soap, vinegar (1:1) and warm water. I leave them to soak and change the dirty water and wash them on a silicone pad. I wipe them with a kitchen towel of the excess water and leave them with the brushes down to dry. They come out very clean and disinfected thanks to the vinegar...can be sprayed with pure alcohol when they are dry...Try it !!Success...Greetings from Romania.❤
@@christinagrant3252 I have a special stand bought on Aliexpress...but when I'm in a hurry I have a higher tray and I leave them with the brushes bristeles down...tell me if the brushes came out ok?!? 🌹🙂
I put the dawn with a little olive oil in a bowl ,dip rub, all the brushes at once then rinse rub all the brushes at once. I like the little bit of olive oil for softener.
I used to use the Bareminerals Shampoo Brush Cleaner but it's now been discontinued. I was looking out for something similar within the same consistency and I came across Bobbi Brown Conditioning Brush Cleanser and it does a great job. I dry my make-up brushes with a Hairdryer using the cool shot.
I hang the brushes brush side down by taking a bulldog clip and clamping it on the handle end. That way the water doesn’t stay in the hozzel end. I have a tension rod that I thread through the handle end of the clips. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I've been using the real Techniques brush shampoo because it rinses out quickly and thoroughly, but when it's gone I have a soap cake brush cleaner from Ulta to try. My makeup brush hack is that I use my old glass scented candle jars as brush holders. They look cute and work perfectly for basically free.
I soak (bristles only) my brushes in dawn and a little vinegar with warm water followed by a light scrub on a silicon mat. The soak gets out a lot of the makeup
I like to dry my brushed with one of those spinners that come with the bowls. It doesn't get the brushes super clean so I don't use it for that, but its amazing at getting most the water out if the brushes. It's completely dry after a few hours. 😊
I use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to clean my brushes. Just put water and soap in it, add the brushes, set it to the longest cycle and let it do its thing. Brushes come out brand new :)
Whoa! That's a lot of brushes! I bought these little mesh sleeves on Amazon and I put one on each of my brushes after I wash them to keep the bristles shaped while they are drying. And I also dry mine in a brush dryer bristle side down. Of course, you can't do that with the double ended brushes (but I hate them and won't buy them).
I find that if I let the head of the brush hang over the counter exposed (as opposed to having the brush head on the paper towels) the bristles dry quicker.
I've recently got the style pro brush cleaner and dryer that spins the brushes, and its made me wash my brushes so much more often! I hate having to wait so long for them to dry so I dont do it as often as I should, but now I wash them like how you did here with a sillicone scubbing mat then I dry them with the Stylepro and reshape them and leave them for like half an hour. Makes it so much more manageable for me haha I dont like to use the style pro to actauly clean them, i do still scrub them with the mat just dry them with the style pro x
I probably would stand the brushes up in a cup instead of laying them flat. I REALLY do love the scrub mat!! I have a small hand held one in the shape of a heart and it does work for me. But since I have been watching your channel, I have purchased a few more. Do you ever use the makeup sponges? And do you wash them or throw them away? I do wash mine but if it has been awhile, I do toss them. Please include this on one of your next videos. Thanks. LOVE your channel!!! 💕💕💕
i guess i'm the only one to be extra carefull with my brushes (i use like 4 only too ^^'), i wash them once per week (what is recommended is 7 to 10 days). I also use a puff and little brushes with sponges for eyes (you buy them in packs), with them i don't pay attention
Dish soap is a definitely a way to irritate sensitive skin. If you’re routinely trying out new makeup and then have a reaction, you can’t be sure if it’s from the makeup or combination of the makeup and harsh dish soap ingredients. My advice would be to use a sensitive facial foaming wash.
If I have a brush that’s really thick with makeup, (mostly foundation) I’ll rub the brush on the soapy pad and then let it sit for a minute and clean others that aren’t as dirty and then go back to the really caked in brushes to rinse, and I usually only have to wash it once. Just a tip 🤷🏻♀️. I’ve heard that a lot of people use the Zote laundry bar soap because it breaks down the oily nature of some products and from our skin, but I’ve never tried it. Has anyone tried that soap? Curious people’s results. I’m weird I like to clean brushes lol. Also, if I use a spot quick dry cleaner, I spay some in a tiny bowl and do several at once so you aren’t spraying the cleaner in the air and using a lot up that way. Sorry my comment was so long winded 😬
@milabu do you recommend on foundation brush that’s an all plastic handle? I had an IT brush one time that has a wood base on it and it started cracking when I put it in water to clean. My next brush I would love no wood handle. Thank you! 😊
I was a very infrequent makeup wearer and never washed my brushes. Recently I've been wearing it more often and got a brush cleaner. It was so disgusting the first time I washed that brush! Took several tries and didn't realize the brush was supposed to be white. 🤢 Please wash your brushes!
New brushes that make makeup look better comes out all the time and if you can afford it what does it matter I know for a fact she uses everyone of those at one time or another to achieve the makeup looks she does
If you have a RU-vid makeup channel where you are comparing products on each side of your face for your audience, I would say yes. If you are a casual makeup wearer, like me, then no.
