Today, we are degreeing the camshaft in my 409ci SBC. This applies to all brands, but the difference is which side number 1 cylinder is. But this basic system is how you can degree any camshaft. You need a degree wheel, dial indicator for measuring cam lift. You can also do this on the car, but you have to use the pushrod or rocker arm to determine when it's at max lift. Much easier without the heads on the engine.
