How to Dehydrate Limes

To dehydrate lime slices, slice into 1/4" thick slices. Lay onto dehydrator trays and dry at 130 degrees F between 16-18 hours. Let cool for 30 min before storing.
Perfect for adding to beers, and not having to waste the extra limes.

StarShadow1, that's interesting, I've never had that occur to me, so I'm not really sure what happened there. I tried looking it up, and couldn't really find an answer. The only thing that I can think of is if you put them into your jars while they're still warm, that would cause decay, but it would have smelled bad. Every once in awhile, something funky happens. I would have done the same thing as you, whenever you're not sure, just dispose of it, it's better to throw it out than get sick.

My limes are turning brown while dehydrating. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing!. They will turn brown. If the color bothers you, you can dehydrate it at a lower setting for a lower time period.

Why do you choose to dehydrate them at such a high temperature? They seem to look burnt. I dehydrate mine for a longer period of time but at 100 degrees. That way, the enzymes are still alive and ready to awaken when we drop these in our morning chia drinks. :)

+FarmbyGardens That is the temperature recommended in dehydrating books. Once they are dried, since all of the water is evaporated, the colors are much more darker.
