This is just the beginning of Advanced Knife Bros "Stump Series". Next will be The Stump Splitter, The Stump Scratcher, and the much anticipated Stump Humper!
With the current crop of cookie cutter youtubers pretty much only reviewing chinese imports and pretty much only talking about how fidgety it is and how many ways it can be "deployed", your channel is quite refreshing. TYFYS...
This is one of coolest knifes I have ever seen.I love the orange one .but probably won't be buying one, disable vets aren't rich.but I had to tell you ,you design a very amazing looking knife.I hope you keep designing knifes.
I received the knife today. Thanks, Mr. Bro, for the time and effort you spent on this project; I'm *very* happy with my new knife! And it came _frickin'_ sharp.
I gotta tell ya. I am not by any means a traditional knife guy. But man are these gorgeous. That blue denim and the orange/yellow bone are sweet. Looks great man. Hope they sell out quick for you and that this is only the beginning❤🎉
I absolutely love hearing your thoughts on the design process and prefer to hear all the details in a longer video as this one. I appreciate all the attention to detail and keeping the price point on the lower side, this hopefully allows me to grab 2, I’ve been eyeing a green and yellow/orange. I REALLY hope to see more runs in different colors (purple would be cool) and future pattern options. ❤
I tried to make it come across that there are compromises- and just because one place has done it like this- doesn’t mean this place can. And it’s truly a collaboration between the designer and the maker
@@AdvancedKnifeBro I'm not a knife collector anymore although I enjoy your videos, but this one has me tempted. I think it's a great design at a great price point and the compromises worked out well
I have wanted one since they were released. They were sold out by the time I could look into it. Was finally able to get one from reddit. Great knife and one that is ready to take up a lot of pocket time!
Congrats on the production, the work looks good. Reminds me of a German-made (flagship) Boker I owned for a day or so and then returned the $200-300 beauty. While I'm perplexed that it has zero skullcrushers, I think it is impressive you were able to do what you did do and am excited what you could do with the right blademaker when a relationship is formed or one of the behemoths wants to increase their net revenue streams. Basically, everything about this you and BladeHQ and people you brought in from complementary industries, it is all _so_ frickin' cool! I'm just pissed that not every blademaker in the world begged for you to have them do your project and bent over to accommodate your vision, for parts plus labor or something below wholesale cost. Maybe your next project will be a kukri, but instead of shoehorn polished garbage scabbard it'll be a nice stitched leather and instead of the crudely machined wood or horn handle it'll be micarta, but I hope you still have the blades made out of salvaged Mercedes leafsprings. I'll set up a crucible in my backyard, where I hypothetically can make one knife every few months with a railroad tie. In seventy years I should be all tooled up for production of whatever orders you're wanting my factory to fulfill. Trend charts indicate that ballistic knives could be quite popular in 2094!
ALLL Purpose Stump Lifter delivered! The most expensive knife I have ever bought (shipping to Canada, customs) and I have an Esee 4 (second most expensive knife I have). Love it, looks great! Good work AKB
I'm too broke to be a collector but damn the fomo is strong here. I got a couple old slip joints from my grandpa when he passed and I've always loved the simplicity of a knife that doesn't get you weird looks in public. Beautiful work my dude.
Would definitely like a single blade version. Normally I carry a folder with a clip but something with less bulk to drop in the pocket as a back up or as primary when wearing slacks would be great. I missed this one but will keep my eye out for the next one. The 154CM and colors on the bone were great choices.
The stump fish is kinda the spiritual Successor to this. A bit more of a sunfish proportions and a single blade. Check out my Instagram feed for the “concept art” and the CAD.
Your use of large white block lettering and neon red/green/pink arrows, in the thumbnail is impressive. Most impressive. But you are not a bought and paid for influencer yet. “You must feel the influence flow around you. Here, between you, me, the stump, the knife, yes, even between the hand and the slip joint .”
Quintessential AKB...exuding modesty, self-deprecating essay brought to life in a most gloriously assembled and edited fashion. Lo to those who were too 🟨 to stick around and hear about cousin Brad and the tab lifter😂. My review won't be for a month or 2, but I can tell you as a 4 year follower on the Toobs, your knife juxtaposes greatly with everything your channel represents, including the stump shield which is indistinguishable from a coffee cup and a garbage can. 👊
I don't want you to fail, quite the contrary. I'm really excited for you and excited to have something you designed. You know your shit and the loudest boos come from the cheapest seats. Keep doing what you're doing, bro!
I've basically quit knives at this point but just had to get one right as they came up on BHQ. Even have to course mine through a forwarder as they don't ship to me, but I'll be more than happy to carry this daily. Was hard to pick between the green and the yellow, but went with the green after a coin toss. Looking forward to getting it in a month or so!
Seen this drop on blade hq. Have no clue who u are but just bought a yellow bone one lol . The theme and simplicity was spot on!! Watched a few of ur videos today and I can say happy I bought ur design and u can say ill be a long time subscriber ur content seems great and the jokes are awesome lol
I appreciate it. I’ve been doing this a while- just a slow and steady channel growth over the years- kinda of doing my own thing over here. I like all kinds of pocket knives and this design is something that kind of encompasses my love for these classic designs.
Whale Canner is the greatest name I’ve ever seen. How about a limited run with dyed whale bone, maybe encase the packaging in blubber? (In for green…good work AKB)
I’ve watched about 70% of your videos. I’m a fan for sure. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve laughed out loud watching this. I commented on this video because this is the most interesting and captivating video I’ve seen you make. I commend you for trying this and going through with it. It’s a big investment. I love how you went through every detail and all the drawings. Love the half stops. One of my favorite knives it’s the GEC Johnny in the spot and it’s obvious it has some of that vibe. So yours is singing to me. Great video bud.
I've been carrying it since I got it. No joke it is my new most favorite knife. Love that slicey hollow ground. Love the classic look. Love how heavy it is.
It’s a bit of a chunker- but within reason. I’m glad you like it… I tried to do the things I like to see in slip joint. And I’m so glad QSP finished these as well as they did.
I was just looking to get into collecting slip joints recently. Stumbled upon your channel to find this. I have a Boker Coffin in magnacut on order and just placed an order for your Denim Micarta Stump Lifter. I like the choice of 154CM. The yellow bone sold out pretty quick, but I look forward to whatever you decide to release in the future.
I got mine today. It’s better than i even imagined. The yellow is waaaaay more attractive in person than on video. Enjoying the design and QSP really knocked it out of the park.
The style of this channel keeps me watching, I've been pretty bored with watching most knife channels that feel like infomercials but I'll keep watching your channel and DBK probably forever. Your design is great, I don't drink beer but I love a cooling beverage in a glass bottle so if I can afford it I'll be attempting to get one of those. Great job!
I use leather sleeves for my OTF and Balisong knives. Nice to see you offer sleeves for your Stump Lifter. Side note for anyone looking to add a sleeve to their EDC. I suggest having the leather worker add a rivet hole in a top corner so you can add a leather or paracord tail this allows the tail to hang slightly out of the pocket so you can draw the sleeve and then release the knife.
I've been watching for years, always love your humor and style of video making, I always take your comments and advice on knives and i can't wait to get my hands on this
Congratulations on your first knife run! I was able to snag a yellow bone version in the presale. Looks like the knives are selling well. Top of the charts on BladeHQ for traditionals. Beaten only by the... Buck 110. Your fans will appreciate the delicious irony 😂
Huzzah! A new knife! Vanity press publication books catch hell, but like Jack advised Miles in the movie SIDEWAYS to stop relying on his book agent for traction, he said, "Get it published. Get it in libraries. Let the public decide." Cool knife, bro!
Snagging one in green if I can. I’ve been waiting for this knife since you first posted about it on IG and I roasted that guy who called your shield a coffee cup 😆 Ha, roasted. Unintended coffee pun. Nice.
This is dope I’m pumped. The knife looks really awesome man. It looks like the most refined version of my grandfathers, wet dream. I have the funds set aside and my schedule ready to race everyone at 11 am central he’ll I even made a blade hq account
Sometimes it’s not about making some revolutionary new knife design. I love this knife! It’s chunky but not ridiculous. The colors are fun. A nice mix of traditional and modern. If they don’t sell out immediately, I’ll be buying one next week.
Looks great. The stump was more correct in the prototype orientation. Put myself on the list at BladeHQ. Love half stops. I thought the stump was a beer mug overflowing with foam…but I am drinking Voodoo right now. Wow flush springs in 3 positions! I vote for spear point or drop point, more rounded than your current main blade which is too pointy, keep the swedge, delete lifter, add spey because I never know when I need to remove balls or perform surgery. Btw ~ my personal price point for this product is $150 plus shipping and tax (total retail less than $200 to my door)
It’s good to want things. Bet I’ll be missing out on the first run. If I’m lucky, maybe there’ll be one left for me… If not, I’ll be anxiously waiting for the second run!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for showing us non-halfstoppers how to safely close a half stop slipjoint with one hand by the way! The lord knows I still need to get used to the half stop.
