@@joeidaho5938 that's why he explained powering out of it similar to monster jam trucks that have the power to drive out of a spin or flip. It wasn't there in this truck. Should have been more conservative since they made the truck detuned to not light the tires on fire where you can do that type of stuff

That truck is not destroyed. I am sure the engine, transmission, rear axle, front suspension, drive shaft, rear suspension, frame chassis rollcage, the interior, buckect seats, seat belts, everything are perfect. It is a rear tire and a $10,000 body work damage.

Didn’t know drifting off-road trucks on the pavement was a thing. Driver error or not, doesn’t seem like the brightest thing to do. But it’s not my money and folks can do with it want they will. Didn’t hurt my wallet at all. If he’s got that money to build it, he’s got enough to rebuild it.

@@anthonyolsen9299someone’s never tasted horsepower, traction is what flips you on pavement. Center of gravity and weight don’t affect anything if you keep the rear tires spinning. This just isn’t a truck built to hotlap, it’s supposed to be on dirt.

that was actually a poor showcase of what a cage can do. This cage is nothing if it can’t perform like a Brenthel. Those dudes rolled one recently doing almost 130mph(100+ after slight braking) and that cage pretty much came out with only scratches. This whole truck looks bent and warped just from this baby roll.

He’s a good driver but even better at finding excuses haha. Jokes aside, glad everyone’s okay, stuff happens and the reason doesn’t matter unless it helps to improve anything for the future. I imagine the twin I beam setup makes it very difficult to counter steer when compared to A arms that BJs trucks use. What do you think?

Just discovered this truck right now. Damn it was cool. Loved the Baja look! From someone who’s had 9 Concussions from an early age, his head will be foggy for awhile, my ears still ring and I have weird sounds in my head and I haven’t had one since I was 17, and I’m 48 now. I think it’s possible to knock a screw loose! Glad ya’ll are alive and “Ok”!

I saw the clip earlier this weekend and figured it was someone with more money than sense not knowing how to handle a truck like that. Seeing that it's a very experienced driver behind the wheel baffles me even more. Props to the cagebuilder! Seeing how they set it upright hurt even more than seeing it roll.

Without question that truck is a 6 figure build but $500k is a bit of a stretch. I don’t understand why they were even driving the thing on a paved road. It was literally built to be on any terrain besides the pavement.

No, it’s really not. The engine jn that truck is 50k, the trans is 20, the axle is 20, the brakes are 20, the shock package is 25, the motech ecu and mil spec wiring is probably 30k, chromoly tube chassis is 30-50k in metal and welding. Those are just some of the big ticket items and it’s around 200k already. Kibbetech has 2 trucks he’s finishing that are over 600k and they aren’t done. These are trophy trucks with nice cabs and paint and nice interiors. A TT is 350k-1M depending on how nice it is and if it’s 4x4. Offroad trucks are absolutely insane as far as the cost goes.

He was braking hard going into the turn. Weight shift hard! He would have handled the turn better by gassing it hard into the turn and burning rubber, the back would have come around and the turn would have been a success.

thats what happens with a top heavy car that didn't have grip then suddenly has a lot of grip. not a expert but I think the drive was just sending it a little to hard you live and you learn. that truck is repairable luckily nobody got hurt.

I remember a couple years ago i was at a car show and this beautiful pontiac gto race car replica was about to pull in to the show and this car behind it slams on its brakes and would have stopped in time but a nissan pathfinder came flying in not paying attention and slammed into the back of the car which went into the back of the gto which got pushed off a little hill,the driver was fine thanks to the car having a roll cage but you could see every gap on the car was messed up but other than that it looked pretty good,the other 2 cars on the other hand were totaled

Looks like it went completely stiff instead of transferring the weight of the truck in a controlled/predictable manner. i can relate to that we have just had the FIA main event at santapod here in the uk my buddys sunbeam stiletto lost traction and rolled over the cars a mess but he is ok and the car can be fixed it was a bummer as he been out for eighteen mouths after his last engine 540 twin turbo let go this new one is a 632ci with twin 88mm turbos i wish your buddy well and it will be nice to see him back out there again ✌🤟see you soon
