Brother, don't apologise for your English. There's two reasons why I can't do what you do. I can't make a guitar like you can and I can't explain the process in a different language like you can. In the RU-vid luthier community, you're up there, you're a boss. My next guitar is a copy of your last one. Your skills are spreading.

Daniel, your technical explanations in English are perfectly fine. I know that sometimes, the exact word you wish to convey may be difficult, but you do an excellent job of explaining your processes.

I was surprised you use a CAD software, because i also use AutoCAD at work. When i watch your full build of Morinessa I was inspired to make a guitar and its already finished. It took me 5 months using only simple hand tools work (5-6h/day).

This video is helping me finish setting up a frankenstien guitar I recently put together. It seems I didn't have the neck angle in relation to the bridge quite right. I'm still adjusting the action as we speak but I can already see consistency that wasn't there before. Thank you so much, I think this just might do it!

Seems like if you pivot the headstock at the nut that the end point will move away from the vertical line you marked from above when the headstock was straight because the far end of the headstock is now moving on a circular path. I realize that this is completely adjustable though. Great info. Wish I could do Autocad. 😊

Another great highly detailed video, thanks! I'm curious did you have any problems setting the minimum saddle height using the hipshot fixed bridges? I find using the included mounting screws which have a small dome head result in pushing the saddles up slightly. Luckily in my case I needed to raise the saddles slightly for the action I prefer, but something I didn't expect from a product like hipshot and something which may catch people out.
@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars 3 года назад
Hi Sean, Yes indeed. The provided dome screws for the Hipshot bridge can be a problem and I wanted to mention this in one of my building videos but it didn't make the cut. This is also a reason why I design my guitars for a string height of 10mm. If you run into troubles with the dome head mounting screws I would replace them with flat head screws instead.
@seanmurphy5212
@seanmurphy5212 3 года назад
@@UnquendorGuitars Thanks for the reply. It's comforting for me to hear you faced the same. I was wondering at first if I had received the wrong screws after I researched a bit online and found no one else seeming to have the same problem. I guess hipshot assume that the saddles will always be raised at least slightly. Still, I'm happy I now know this to avoid any miss calculations on future guitars.

Hi El Jarocho, I primarily use AutoCAD and sometimes Solidworks or Fusion 360 if I need to verify something in 3D. For example if a hole can be drilled at a certain angle.

3.44 However, you provide no indication of what sort of angle is needed at this point for the string ... so this neck angle now just represents the 'random line' that you first drew ... !?! What criteria do you advise for the correct angle for the string at the nut for it to actually now dictate the actual Neck Angle required ??? I fear that you missed out a critical part of the explanation here ... Grateful for the missing information, please ... which will also need to take into account string tension, hence scale length amongst other matters ...
@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars 3 года назад
Hi Stephen. I'm afraid you might have missed a small part of the video. I talk about and explain the headstock break angle from 2:33 where I mention the break angle usually is anything in between 10º and 15º and the purpose of the break angle is to create additional string tension at the nut to keep the strings in the nut slots when playing the guitar. After which I indeed draw in a line at a random angle to show that any break angle will do as long as your strings run at a downwards angle towards the tuners.
@Jester-Riddle
@Jester-Riddle 3 года назад
@@UnquendorGuitars So, you are effectively saying any angle between 10 to 15 degrees ... ? (No, I didn't miss that part of the video ... there was just no 'calculation' of the necessary angle to determine the correct string tension other than the approximate angle range ... )
