Thank you for a very thorough video on dewinterization. All the information beginners need to properly de winterize and sanitize. Much better than the videos produce by the manufacturer.

Nice job on your instructional videos, Ross! I've seen a few and they're excellent! I will be sanitizing our 5th wheel but we NEVER use the on board fresh water tank, so my process will be to run the bleach through the same way that I would if I were winterizing with anitfreeze. I'll pour the bleach into a 5 gallon bucket of water and set the system for winterize and turn on the pump. Then I'll open each faucet until I smell the bleach. Then I'll let the bleach sit in the system for aprox. 4 hours before flushing it out. I will NOT flush the toilet during this process. Thanks also for reminding us to clean our city water screen!
Great idea if not using the tank. Just remember you’re going to have to dilute the solution based on 5 gallons, not the capacity of your fresh tank. That would mean only about .67 ounces of bleach.

Can you do a video on de-winterizing a Park Model RV? I don't see much help on here for the Park Model RV. I do like your videos & how you explain so much of what you are doing!
Very good videos, thanks! This is our first time dewinterizing..... In step 14&15 ......after you've let the sanitizing solution sit for 3-4hrs how do you drain the fresh water tank?
@@RVTIPSANDTRAVELS Yes, please! Did you just cut the factory ends that used the removable caps off and add the valves? The valves would be a much easier way to drain the system than keeping up with caps.
This is really helpful, but I'm wondering about flushing the ice maker line and dealing with a kitchen under sink water filter. I checked and there is no pink juice in the filter so the wintering shop must have removed the filter. But does this mean there is pink antifreeze up to the ice maker? Or maybe the antifreeze never got to that line? Should I try to make some ice while the bleach solution is in the tank in order to sanitize the ice maker and line? Or is that like the water heater and is should be avoided?
Do you need to fill the hot water tank at the end of the process? I've only done the process once before but thought towards the end you had to open the pressure release valve and fill it until water came out then close it .
Do I 'need' to use a wrench when reinstalling the water heater plug in spring? It gets snugger than I expected by hand. Or is doing by hand guaranteed to cause a leak?
I use a wrench, but very carefully because I know exactly what you are talking about. I also replace the plug every 2 years or so, seems like they go farther in every year.
My wife and I just bought a 2022 Cherokee Alpha Wolf and have a question. Since it’s only a little bit of bleach and antifreeze, can I just drain it in front of my house on the street? Or do I need a dump station? Been watching your videos since December over and over.
I would avoid dumping any type of bleach on the ground. I'm not a chemist, I dont know the effect it could have on local wells or animals, but I would err on the safe side. Same with antifreeze. Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I just can't confidently tell you it would be ok. Hope that makes sense.
The crossover valve allows cold water to flow over to the hot water lines since the water heater is blocked off. Otherwise nothing would go through the hot faucets when winterizing.
