One of the boys here. Thank you because the auto stop definitely was driving me crazy I almost got t boned because I couldn't accelerate fast enough During a turn there was so much lag. I absolutely do feel a huge difference The response time is incredibly quicker
All this start stop dose is mess up your transmission over time another way Chevy trying keep getting money out of everybody it better if it off all it does is make your electric parts work hard go bad over time if you do lot of driving
This feature can be turned off on the newer models but not the 2020 and earlier likely because of complaints on earlier models. This is the only method and it is a shame. Chevy engineers aren't always very practical.
My 2024 model has a dashboard button to turn it off. HOWEVER I don't want to push that button every time I start the car. But.... pushing that button ONCE is easier than pushing the shift button SIX TIMES. It's just a constant annoyance I wish I could eliminate.
I got you, fam. Put the car in Neutral with the e-brake on. The engine will never turn off until you turn it off or it runs out of fuel. That's how I keep her running on those cold days where I'm parked and need the heat.
@@HollywoodHornetcould be a good idea until the dog accidentally puts the car in drive and hits the gas pedal then at that point it's not a good idea
I reckon you're asking to make a "tutorial" on turning off the "automatic door locks"? If so, turning off the automatic locks when your car reaches a speed is a coding issue that must be done via high-end scan tool. It's been a while since I drove the Equinox so I don't recall when the automatic locks...lock. I do recall on my BMW you can code the locks to either (never lock automatically) or (lock/unlock upon shifting to or from PARK) or (automatically lock when you reach a certain speed) AND you can choose what speed you want the doors to lock.
I pulled the plug loose from the hood latch sensor. This is a permanent disable of the engine auto stop feature. I'm pretty sure everyone can tell if the hood isn't latched. Why do we need a sensor to tell us that? I wish I had a way to move this comment to the top of the list. It sure eliminates the problem of driving in L6 all the time. THANKS @ALANLANGLEY7426 FOR PRESENTING THIS IDEA.
Worthless system. It was designed to make you belive you were saving pennies on gas, but they won't tell you how much DOLLARS you were spending on parts, like your starter and electronics.
Thank you Chevy are losing their minds they are making decisions that make cars less dependable by wearing out parts faster I miss Chevy and GM Toyota is my favorite now never thought I would be driving a rice burner!!
Sir when I catch you in the streets I'm going to hug you. You might even see a tear come from my eyes. I drive Lyft and it gets annoying asf. Thank you so much
I tried both this trick and the turning on the defroster while driving technique. Both techniques worked for a few days then somehow the auto stop start annoying thing started up again. Its like chevy has a brain.
But will I have to do it every time I'm in the car after I turn it off then retarting it.. bc I did that before and I turn it off and then restart it and went back to normal..
One day I was watching this video and then my sister came in my room my zipper was open and she said omg what I was doing I told her I was watching a video on a equinox not realizing my zipper was open so during Christmas dinner I was wondering why my whole family had all gave me a jar of KY jelly and they were all laughing at me so now I am self conscious about my zipper being open this is a true story
Someone in another similar video comment that doing that same procedure mess up the transmission, which I don't know Im not a mechanic but this is really annoying and want it to stop,
Doesnt constantly putting it in low gear and doiing this mess up the car or the tranny? I love these models but they could have done without this stupid feature, i can only imagine the money they've lost just having this feature.
