Here's how to disassemble the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for repair.
Whether you need to replace the screen/digitizer, faulty USB module, battery, camera, or even a stuck S-Pen, disassembling the Galaxy Note 5 can be done with simple tools.

Great Video! Glad you enjoyed my pry tool. As a side comment, the Charging port does not easily come off which is a HUGE negative aspect of repairing this phone. The 'back' and 'menu' buttons are attached to the charging port and they wrap around under screen. (Between the glass layer, and the plastic frame layer.) So if you want to change out your charging port, it ends up being pretty darn invasive. And probably isn't possible for most people.

Took me a good hour plus working it apart for the first time but after that it was all downhill. My S pen tip broke and was lodged in the holder. Thanks for the video!

so I can replace the battery. That's it settled then. I'll be getting a Note 5. What pisses me off is not the fact you can't swap out a spare on the go, but that these batteries, after a year or so, just don't hold a charge for half as long. Battery swap is essential these days. Thanks for the how-to!!

Overall, good instructions. For disassembly, make sure to disconnect the battery first after removing the back cover of course, and for assembly connect it last. You will lessen potential risk for main board (motherboard) damage.

Max Lee do You know if the Note 5 camera lens cover is the same size as the Note 4? Does the shell have to be removed to replace the glass lens cover piece? I broke the glass piece on my Note 5. They still don't sell that piece though.

+Max Lee +1 to using a case when placing a back cover back on. It helps keep the cover adhered to the frame of the phone until it can completely settle.

Where can you get the metal frame housing at? I dropped my tmobile note 5 and dinged up the edge a little, nothing major just enough to make my OCD go into hyperdrive for my phone. Do I NEED to get a tmobile n920t variant or will any note 5 medal housing work? Those two yellow bands are vital yea? What are they?

I'm afraid I have broken the S pen detection sensor. I got the S pen stuck in the wrong way and even though I did not tug it very hard, after inserting the plastic film and getting it back out it no longer recognizes it.

The Digitizer does not come with the frame. You need to unglue those 2 and glue the frame to your new digitizer/lcd

+trilingualkid No, they are not, one has a plug connection, and the other is removable. Unfortunately, without super heavy modification, it wouldn't work.

If you live in area where there's a lot of static electricity, e.g. you have thick carpets, dry air in arizona. But I live one block from the ocean where moisture level is very high so static electricity can't survive.
