Sat here for 45 mins trying to figure out the Breech Fixing part, only to realize that it needs to slip into the slot that I cant see. You are a life saver, thank you.
It's all a matter of personal preference. The handguard that came with mine was comfortable to me, and I have good size hands. The great thing about the GSG-522 is that you can order multiple different styles of handguards that are straight from the factory, including a MP5K style with a front grip, a rail which comes with 3 M1913 picatiny rails with a detachable vertical grip. All of the accessories that are available for this rifle, you can order straight from GSG themselves.
It is, but it needs to be broken in if it's new. The primary problems I had were either failure to extract or double feeding. But once I ran a couple hundred rounds of high velocity through it, it would feed just fine. Only problem I had after it was broken in was with the magazine. But to answer your question, once it's broken in, it's a very good .22, in my opinion that is.
Very nice, will be getting one tommorow. That tool for the "alum" block sq. Or hex? Another suggestion, get a gun screw driver set. Or at leasr a good set of long bits that fit the screw's. Cat
If you reach inside the magazine well, you'll feel an indention, that is your magazine drop safety. You can either press that in with your finger, or insert your GSG's magazine, either way have that pressed down and pull the trigger, and just like with any firearm make sure there's no round in the chamber before pulling the trigger.
Hello. I Am Thinking About Getting The Gsg 522 And I Am Wondering; Where Did You Get That HandGuard. I Have Been looking For One For A Long Time. Thank You.
The rear sight on my GSG is from an airsoft MP5, as for the name brand I don't remember. But I get the same accuracy with these sights that I do with the factory sights. I just like my sighting options with this one.
The handguard you see on my GSG in the video is the factory default that came with mine. The stock and rear sight however is from an airsoft MP-5, as long as the parts are similarly made on an airsoft MP-5, then they can attach with little to no issues on the GSG-522. If you checkout Badcompany1911's review of this rifle, you'll see it has a foregrip with a built-in light attachment. Here's a link to the video that I'm referring to. And this is an awesome .22 once it's broken in. :) Badcompany1911's review of the GSG-522: GSG 522 Review
Any idea what would stop the charging handle from coming all the way back before i get too deep into this one I am tryin to fix for a friend? Seems like alot of small parts for a lil .22 semi rifle.... I am glad it's not mine hahaha I hate this thing already...lol
Clearly this guy missed one of the most important things for new owners to understand which is DO NOT LOSE the BOLT STOP SPRING that will come out if you just go “cleaning” the receiver after removing the Breach Body (aka Bolt carrier). Please if you’re watching this make sure you know where it is and to remove it before cleaning.
Humble Hustler is that the roughly 1/2” long spring that made an appearance on our table? It’s been peachy trying to figure out what to do to fix this issue now. If anyone knows, I’m all eyes and ears
hi. thanks for the video. i ran into a little problem... when i separated the upper from the lower and removed the bolt assembly somewhere between i found laying in front of me a little spring??? not sure where it came from or where it goes? its about half an inch long. any thoughts? all i did was follow the video (to a t) and now stuck. please help as i would love to go shooting soon and not sure what to do? eagerly awaiting your contact.
Jesse Hinds Hi, did you ever find out where this spring is meant to reattach? Just ran into the exact same issue. Disassembly of this firearm was easy, putting it back together has been an absolute bitch.
So does mine - I've just followed a 'how-to' video on here that describes how to file down the proud part of the firing pin (the bit that DOESN'T strike the rim) and also advises cutting down the spring that resists the pin as it's too big and strong.. Not fired it yet so can't comment but it seems to be a recognised mod...
