I can confirm that this trick is cool 💪 It's also called a 50-50, if you want to look for more tutorials, I know I didn't cover getting into it. There are already some great tutorials for that though :D

Cool. I'll go back to trying truck stands. I ordered a freestyle board from Decomposed and they seem to have changed the complete I wanted *while it was in my cart* so it didn't come with skid plates like it said it would. But the freestyle wheels are cool. I've been afraid of hard wheels so my street board had pretty soft wheels on it. Comparing it to the freestyle board, it's no wonder I couldn't do half of what I've been trying. I can kind of do a revert now. Soft wheels do not like sliding. Also my Andy Anderson helmet came in the mail today! I'm going to try to wear safety gear more.

Truck stands really are so fun to get into once you get past the painful beginning! 💪 Weird it didn't come with skid plates. You should reach out and ask them about it. Still, I hope you get to have a lot of fun with it. Freestyle boards are definitely a great tool for the job (freestyle tricks :D) And sweet! Enjoy Andy's helmet. They're sick!

@@SarahParkMatott I did email Decomposed about the skid plates. It's been over a week with no response. :( I asked them to at least advise me on which ones to buy if my board wasn't supposed to have them. I think I've figured it out on my own though. sigh...
@SarahParkMatott
@SarahParkMatott 3 года назад
@@joshuahutchings558 that’s too bad! One other thing you could do is reach out to Mike Osterman at waltz skateboarding. He has a business email on the waltz skateboarding website. You could ask if his skids would fit. I recommend it because he also sells a cool little tool that helps you line the skids up and install them. I’m not sure if they will fit. But it might be worth a try 💪

hey!! i really like your videos and they have helped me a lot with my skateboarding, the thing is that i have a really big problem with commiting to the tricks i try to do, and i also think it is an interesting topic to talk abaout so i would love to see your thoughts on it. Thanks for all your videos and keep doing them, you're great!
@SarahParkMatott
@SarahParkMatott 3 года назад
Hey🙋‍♀️ thanks! I’m really glad to hear that. I also want to talk more about committing! But, if you haven’t seen them the videos about “learning tricks stationary vs moving” and “fear and skateboarding” are both kind of related to the topic! Especially the second one. Will definitely come up more in the future though 💪💪

your videos are really great. if you dont mind how long on average do you session of practice per time? how many times per week? i realize it probably has huge variation on your week and what trick you are trying to hone just want to get an idea. also how did the tail protectors change the board feel? thanks for all the effort in putting out these videos.
@SarahParkMatott
@SarahParkMatott 3 года назад
Thank you! 😃 I used to skate a lot. I skated about five or six times a week for 40 minutes to an hour for maybe six months. Then about 3 to 5 times a week for about an hour for six months. But it's important to keep in mind, I was doing a lot of freestyle which is easier on impact than a lot of other skating. Doing a stair set for an hour six times a week would be way different. I actually realized throughout the year that my body needed more rest and slowly started skating less. And after that, it really varied. My sessions are typically up to an hour though. I'm always sneaking them in here and there and on lunch breaks. The skid plates that protect the board do change the feel a bit. They're great for freestyle skaters. Can drag the tail all you want and do truck tricks without a worry. You can still ollie and do flip tricks with the skid plates on. I didn't notice a big difference. Although the "tail" is a few mm closer to the ground. I'm not sure how they would affect the board on different park obstacles though. Would depend what you want them for I suppose! :)

@@SarahParkMatott I truly appreciate the engagement. The Casper stall is one of the tricks that made me fall in love with skateboarding when I was a kid and over the last hour I was trying to think of like a different foot variation and trying to be creative and invent something new and what I was already thinking already exists it's called a cross foot Casper you should check it out I think you will like the physics behind it. The way I was thinking was I did not even take into consideration entering or exiting the trick or even rolling into it I was simply picturing the cross foot stall stationery and before I thought further I looked it up and there's a couple videos on RU-vid it's pretty neat. I definitely want to get a freestyle skateboard in the future and have some fun with that because rolling and trying to do a trick feels really unsteady even though doing a freestyle trick if you do not land bolts for if your feet are right next to each other and you lean one way the board will shoot out so you got a spread or stick The Landing I guess but that's all part of the learning curve while using a piece of wood and wheels to defy gravity and manipulate physics. It's definitely easier when you take it even deeper into consideration and break it down into the practice steps to build up confidence when learning the mechanics of a trick like you do and your videos they are very in-depth so keep up the great work! Thank you for all the effort of editing and adding in the goofy versions at the ends! lol I really appreciate that part.

Should I avoid doing these without skid plates?
@SarahParkMatott
@SarahParkMatott 3 года назад
I would definitely recommend having skid plates for heavy truck tricks like pogos when you really hit the tail or nose hard into the ground. But this trick where you just step up onto the truck and half flip back to bolts isn't too hard on the deck. I did it on my street board without skid plates and it was fine. Although it's harder to balance on the round tail. I would recommend trying a few, and just keep an eye on the tail. I am also a small rider though, so I don't carry a lot of weight even when I pogo. A heavy rider might want to be more careful. (Sorry to respond so late!)
