Yeah! So Primo is a moving trick. Primo Desiderio is a freestyler from the 1980s who invented a trick where you slide in rail stand. That trick is named after him. Any time you’re just standing on the side of your board and you’re stationary, it’s a rail stand.
Thank you guys. I'm a fifty-three year old ramp rider whose been trying to learn street tricks since this corna pandemic began and I'm at home with my kids. Although the pain I have to endure for days if not weeks on end when I fall trying to learn these tricks is almost unbearable, I'm still motivated to learn them....and now even more so with this very helpful video at my disposal. Cheers from Dresden!
These tip trick videos have gotten nothing but better over time. You've helped me learn more tricks than anybody else on RU-vid man. Just bought a Champion single kick off your site, can't wait to learn even more.
Almost 1 month of skatebording and I mastering the Tic-tac, I slowly transit from Duckwalk to Monsterwalk, I succeded my first 360 kickturn & usually practice Primo rail stand or Toeside rail... All of that thanks to your Channel. Thank you for theses beginner tips, they are really usefull ! 👍🏻
Ahh that is so awesome! Thank you for putting in the work to learn those. Keep locking down these basics and you’ll have a much easier time with the intermediate and advanced FS tricks
That’s the goal 4 sure. My targets are : 1️⃣ Quickly gain a decent level to buy (deserve) a Waltz board. 2️⃣ Promote Freestyle who’s not popular (unknow?) in France. All kids speak about Street. I’ll send & tag you some videos if I become proud of my évolution.
I love your presenting style, very laid back but with clear communication. It makes it easy to understand the steps and take confidence in learning them! Thanks for the videos!
I've been dabbling w/ rail stands on my neighbors skateboard..... I know I shouldn't because it's not a freestyle or hybrid board but it's really fun. 😁
love these!I gotta get me a dang board lol. I missed out on the last batch of boards!! gotta be more diligent and get my poop in a group for then next batch. thxz for the vids Mike! bee safe and stay awesome!
Hey mike thank you for this video. I watch you from France and i discovered frestyle skateboarding thanks to you ! before that I did freestyle tricks without knowing their names and even without knowing that there was discipline for that... i was just the « weird guy » because i love doing « weird » tricks 😂 So a big thank you to you for that ... your channel is great I hope it will work for you and that you will succeed, you deserve many more subscribers 👍
Started freestyle skating recently, I have a lot of balance issues as a result of my shity life history so I look kinda funny, but heelside railstand is the first "trick" I learned. I actually find it harder to do on a carpet or grass because the ground is less stable.
In my opinion, I think It's supposed to help you get comfortable with getting into the position or the movement you need to get into the stand, not necessarily stay in it. Good observation!
@@mike_osterman1 Tad bit hard to practice walk the dog etc on an embossed manhole cover (tilted!) or on the surrounding knobbly grass surface. Can practice tail stop HS railstand, tried regular HS railstand & nearly died. Will try again...may post if I get a bit better :)
Freestyle can be executed with a normal board ? I notice most freestylers have weird looking boards. But to me it is the most impressive form of skating. I can’t believe it’s not more popular. Give a 9yo a ramp and he can grab air by the end of the hour…. But doing so much with nothing!? Now THAT friend is impressive!
Cheers Mike. I'm having problems with the rail walk, where the board will always flip down when I try to cross over. Can I blame my board on this one if my wheels stick out and are proud of the deck? I feel I need to re-hack the setup I have to make this work?
where can i send vids? btw i learened a lot avout freestyle. thatnk you so much for getting me into freestyle. ive learned tricks such as,rail flip, walkthe dog, space walk, sometimes casper.
Love your content Mike! You ar such an inspiration for me. I just started skating a few months ago and youre really keeping me going while i cant skate with my friends! Quick question tho, Im looking for skate shoes, do you have any recommendations? Ive destroyed 2 pairs of vans so far, one pair being a gift from my girlfriend, which she certainly isnt happy about ^^
@@mike_osterman1 I started with old Authentics i didnt care about anymore and moved to old skools recently which mainly suffer from my casper attempts :D thanks for the suggestions ill try some out soon
Lukas Tschorn Get shoe goo! Apply some on the shoes when they're new in the areas you know are wearing out first. Once the shoe goo wears out on the shoe, simply apply another layer before you break through the shoe material. I've been doing this for years and my shoes last between 7-12 months depending on how lazy I'm being with application.
I've noticed in a lot of your videos that sometimes when you get up into a rail stand, you do this backwards shuffle. Is that shuffle a way to maintain your balance when going into the rail, or is it a trick/move? Does it have a name?
How is it your deck so stable when you're standing on it in railstand position? mine isn't, is it because i setup my deck for all around not specifically for free styling?
Help! I have some stupid mental block.. currently I get to rail stand easily from stand still, but I do not get back to the board. I either jump away from the board, or just stand on the rail standing.. like a dumbass.
