Hey guys, in today's video, I'm going to be showing you how to set up AI hearing for it's perception and sensing. In this example, we will throw a rock which creates a noise, so the AI will go and investigate it.

Great video :)Really like how easy it is to understand your tutorials and doesn’t have annoying intros Video suggestion:if a player interacts an area it ends the game and says you win or whatever.Also there’s a timer and it will stop if you interact the area.

I was going to thank you for your proper explanation and tutorial. It's frustrating how much useless information there is out there when you try to search for a seemingly simple answer. ...then I realized I've already used your blend space tutorial before and that's when I subscribed. Lol

Hi Matt, I tried to add this tutorial with AI Custom Location but it doesn't work, you add a branch after random roam, where should add to investigating (red one) for AI Custom Location(used with macro ones)

Great video! all works but one thing: "Report noise event" max range does not work unless if it's 0. Is there anywhere I should check to see if it's correct?

Yo, thanks man this helped! Also could you maybe help on having to find things like find 0/8 teddy bears and maybe a way to add music to the main menu screen or how to make end game credits? Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks man, and I can look into that for sure. For the music, you can use "Play Sound 2D" off the event begin play in your main menu level, making sure you open the audio file and tick "Loop". So i got it all setup but when i throw a rock, my AI (thats using your custom AI Patrol points) takes two steps towards the sound and goes right back to his patrol. I cant get him to walk all the way over to where the rock landed... anyone know how to fix this?

If your AI doesnt go to the sound location you can follow thi step. 1. In your AI random roam Node. The first node you need put boolean "Investigating?"-> add Branch, add custom event called "Investigate sound", and connect false to another branch for boolean "Is chasing" 2. On perception update : In AI move to at success node -> delay node -> set boolean "Is Investigating?" to false 3. Connect custom event "Investigate sound" to the first node at the same line from "On perception update"
