In that BMW you have to press and hold the ASC button until you see a second yellow light on the dashboard. This will turn the traction control off completely. Pressing the button just once still limits the power and the car stalls.
wrong. I have a e46 318Ci with ASC. Pressing it once or holding it 20 seconds does not add a second light. If u just press it for 2 seconds you will see a yellow light on the dash. Only with DTC or DSC you need to hold it 10s
@@chemistryfps Maybe it depends on the model. My car is a 2002 320d 150hp (facelift) and when i hold ASC for more than 3 seconds it shows a second yellow light (the parking brake light turns yellow).
@@chemistryfps My e46 is a wagon and the battery is in the trunk.I think its because there is no space under the hood or is just weight distribution. Most BMW's have their batteries in the trunk.
For clarification: If you have a pre-facelift model (like @chemistryfps), you only got ASC (Anti-Slip-Control). You only need to press this once to deactivate it. If you have a facelift model like @borislavkolev6263 you got DSC which has to be pressed about 5 seconds to deactivate it fully. The Battery is only in the trunk if you have a 6 cylinder petrol (320i and up) or a diesel engine. 4 cylinder petrol (318i and 316i) ones got it under the hood
Thats a 99 model, it has a more promitive traction control so it actually turns off on press. The facelift models had the more advancef one with two stages of off.
You have to hold the traction controls button for 12 seconds to turn it all the way off. Once you do that it will not be able to be turned back on until the car is off. Just pressing the button once puts it in a sport mode that still has some assist.
@@Bjorgolf553 Yup, thats how it works. If you hold the DSC too long, it gets activated again and you cant deactivate it again until you restart the car
Ikr he doesnt know what hes talking about, tho i will say that he mentioned the car is E46 323i meaning its stroked to less kw power than the 325i which shares the same engine, the 323i can have a 2.2 liter or a 2.5 liter, the lower one has 125kw but the bigger one has 135kw (the one he has in this car here) and also the 325i engine the 2.5 the original one that his engine is based on has 141kw so i mean his car has the more baby version of the 2.5 the 135kw one, but still, its not that hard to do a burnout, he probably was nervous and gave it too much brake or something idk
that sucks for you then. roll it back in reverse at like 5 km/h (or like 3 mph), rev it to the moon and dump the clutch. see if you can stretch the burnout with a little bit of foot brake. (not taking responsibility for the broken halfshaft tho :D)
Well, it does burn a bit, I've done it by reving the engine and just doing a regular start, but yeah, it's not a burnout in anyway, but it does burn for a bit longer that what you would except. ( after thinking a bit, that might be because she had poor tires too in front ... )
on e46 one light does not turn traction control completely of you need to press and hold it and you will get two yellow lights the handbrake light will go yellow to
I unplugged all my abs, dsc, asc fuses & my car still doesn’t burn out tires. It actually shuts the car off every time I try. What do I have to change ?
Blanco Escondido There are different level for the ess supercharger, it can go from 50hp to around 200/250hp more. In addition you have to upgrade some parts to be able tu run it reliably and cams for the top hirsepower one. Some says thta you havebto replace the pistons and rod after 400 hp on the m52tu so you might want to do it just to be safe. You can get way more power with a turbo kit but it's more complicated to install it, there is not a lot room under the bonnet of those cars. The ess supercharger just slap on the side of the engine and replace the intake manifold, if done right it can look pretty stock.
I attempted to do a burnout on grass (as to not ruin my tires) in my 1955 GMC half-ton pickup with its stock V-8 and automatic transmission. It couldn't do it as it was too heavy especially with 1000 pounds of junk in the cargo box. It was also too strong of an engine and driveline as the brakes couldn't hold it in place even if I was pushing as hard as I can on the brake pedal.
Nothing happens when i press the traction control button. Nothing appears and i dont feel the car becoming more easy to drift with. Is it possible that its turned off or not working. Im with e46 too 2.0
if you wanna go cheap theres nothing wrong with a welded diff. little bit of chirping at low speeds when turning tightly but thats about it. even on a daily driver the halfshafts will last for a long time especially if you dont go to full lock when you dont need to
*Doing Burnouts is fun I must admit…Until you Ruin your gearbox and diff* 😂 The Cost of the repairs won’t be Fun. So fellas Be mindful how you abuse your vehicle 🚘
