I am an adult ballet beginner. After one year of learning, I find yoga extremely useful for flexibility and mobility. Thank you for sharing all these beginner-friendly, useful information!
Ah wow! Never seen ffold explained in so much detail, one try and I've improved massively already!! (never used my hands till now!! Great advice, thanks!!)
This was soooo helpful, thank you!❤I was struggling for a while now with this pose cause it seems so simple, yet I never knew exactly how to do it and always felt weird:D
So well explained, thank you! Do you have any tips or drills to improve the compression between torso and thighs? I found it really difficult to keep those together (even with very bent knees). I also notice that as an inconvenience when trying to press into headstand (crouch position). I can’t find a lot of drills on the topic, so maybe you already gave some tips here or on Instagram and I’ve just missed out. Thank you so much!!
I don't want to scare anyone but I just had the frightening experience of having a "bleed" in each of my eyes. I have been practicing yoga for many years and fairly recently have been doing yin yoga. My doctor said for the next four weeks, "do not stand on my head". I never stand on my head but I do many other poses where my head is dangling. I'm afraid that these poses have contributed to a higher pressure in my eyes and therefore perhaps caused the bleed. I am almost 70 years old and the doctor did say that as we age, there are changes in the inner eye structure that contribute to this occurrence. Again, I don't want to scare anyone but it's food for thought...especially if you're older. I'm hoping to be able to get back to practicing at some point.
I have the same issue: for me it's because my connective tissue doesn't work properly, so things like throwing up, hanging my head and even just regular movement will cause it. Afaik it's not necessarily dangerous, but I definitely like to avoid it if I can. I hope you'll be back to practice soon!
Hi Liv! I loved the video but I have one question since I have trouble to extend my legs while trying to leave my chest and legs touching, though I can extend the legs with a straight back and touch the floor with my hands. If this is the case, what should I work towards being more flexible to be able to do this?
Got to say I’m feeling progress with my forward fold. Also using a weighted Jefferson curl along with a number of your video’s. Many thanks for the content Liv, your channels been a great help as I progress with my Yoga journey. I’ve attended a number of Hot Pod Yoga sessions which I find very enjoyable as the heat allows for a little more mobility.
Easier said than done. How do I push the sit bones to the sky? How do I lengthen my lower back? mine won't move. are there any stretches that will held with this????? The problem for me is that when I bend over the highest part of me is my lower back, no i cannot lengthen it. My hips just cannot rotate forewards that much.
Not sure if you’re actually asking for help or just wanting to rant at my videos but it sounds like you need to bend your knees. Perhaps even bend them a lot until you can feel your lower back stop rounding
What if the angle between my torso and hips is more than 90 degree! You are showing video for beginners, but who am I in this case if I can't event overcome 90 degree with straight back from standing position even after 3 weeks of stretching like this. What's wrong with me?
