Thank you, Michael Borders! I did what you said in this video, and it worked like a charm. No more ABS and skidding car lights showing. Victory! Many, many thanks. Cheers.
Thanks Mike, I did the reset on my 2016 Ram, man what a money saver it worked. I wished I saw this video, earlier, almost crashed when the ABS mod failed. Thanks again
Thanks bro my mom's jeep brakes were stuck and I've replaced/rebuilt engines and transmissions and never knew this was a thing. She was freaking out and I saved her day thanks to your quick video!

WOW! It worked. My big brother just installed new battery posts on my car so I was worried that he knocked something loose but he insisted that it probably turned the TCS lights on my dash since the battery got disconnected....and he was right. Thank you for saving me a trip to the repair shop.👍 Oh and I have a Mazda so apparently it is a universal thing 🤷🏼♀️

It's a MIRACLE!! I am a competent individual with a broad knowledge of mechanics and electronics. I was very skeptical. But it does work actually. Twice the problem warning light returned. Third try fixed it permanently. Thanks, Michael. You probably saved me a thousand bucks. No telling how much time and frustration. How simple can a fix be.

I just did this on my 99 Subaru. The ABS lights came on this morning and my breaks were working fine so i thought it might have been a fuse- did a quick google search, this video came up, I did the steps and the ABS light is off. So I feel safe, and confident knowing it wasnt a real issue at this time. I really appreciate videos like this that help us DIY and not fuss over things we can easily do ourselves. Thanks again!

This is awesome! It works! I did the three step process...abs and brake lights still on but once I drove out of the drive way, maybe 10 mph, reset was complete. Excellent peddle, fluids good, etc. and checked prior to reset attempt of course. Thank you so much!!! 🌟👏🏻😃
@@DIYwithMichaelBordersnever had to mess with abs sensors before but my Honda Accord's front right sensor loses contact once above 30 mph, any suggestions on what this could be?
@@donniev8181 Thanks for sharing your experience, it’s likely that your sensor will need to be cleaned and reconnected…or it may need to be replaced all together.
Omggg I got the ABS light while I was getting my rear tire a patch since it had a nail on it , I immediately searched up the cause of the ABS and thankfully I found this video , and yes it works on 2015 Dodge Challenger, I did every step and the ABS light didn’t go off immediately so like the guy said in the video I took it for a drive and around the 15mph range the ABS completely disappeared, I love seeing my dashboard with no lights so seeing that ABS light and traction offf made my day way better!!
😱OMG!😱 This actually worked on our 2006 Chevy Silverado every time my husband cranked up the truck the ABS Light and the Brake light would come on. He would kill the truck and disconnect the battery for 5-10 mins and it would help for a few minutes but then it would come back on as soon as he started to drive. We just came across this trick of yours and it worked. Thank you so much you not only helped us but you saved us $2K. Thank You so much!
Awesome, guy, Thanks a lot! It worked! I just got my passlock/ignition cylinder replaced and all my keyfobs recalibrated and about one week after dropping $500 bucks and one light finally going out, three lights come on: abs, traction, and parking brake all light up and stay lit! Didn't want to drop any more money for a "diagnostic" and two hours in a waiting room. My 2011 (manual) Colorado chirped at me about 5 times after I pressed the gas like you said and when it started, no issues!

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders I did already and it is. I just haven't had the cash to do it yet. The radiator has a leak so I'll be doing that here in a couple of days.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders radiator update... It was a very simple job! 4 bolts on the skid plate, remove lower radiator hose and transmission lines (for automatics). Remove upper hose then fan shroud. Remove grill, which is only clipped in. Out of the 8 I think I have 2 left but zip ties help hold that. Most were broke before this. 2 bolt for AC condenser and 1 for the top radiator mount and it basically slides on up. I admit I got the cheapest one I could find at $65 shipped! My only issue was the left and right end caps that I had to transfer from the old radiator to the new one. Each one is held in at the top with a torque style screw. I broke 2 bits and it didn't even break loose. Out came the grinder and I found new bolts that fit the nuts in the new part. It's a common size so I had them from a past project. Everything is back in and I realize my transmission lines don't screw into the new radiator's trans cooler. After a few minutes of "great... Now what!?" I realized that the new radiator came with the part I needed. That screw end of the transmission lines are held on by little metal clips that are easily removed with something pointed. Almost like a quick disconnect. Popped the new ones on, made sure it was all good to go and the whole job would have taken less than an hour but since I was in no real rush it took about 2 hours. No special tools needed. I think a 10mm & 13mm socket, a ¾inch wrench, Channel Locks and a flat screw driver is all I used.
Bill Carini Bill, this is awesome info & we really appreciate it. Great organized step-by-step guidance. This will definitely be helpful to viewers. 😎👍🔧🔩

Thanks for sharing, in that case…you have a part internally acting sporadically…meaning working sometimes and not working other times. This is also an indication that the exact part is in its early stages of failure, and will fail completely in coming weeks or months. Resetting system helps trip part to work as designed again but it sounds like it can only work for a short period of time. Having your ABS system read by an OBD 2 scanner may help pinpoint the exact part causing the problem. 👍
Thanks for watching & we appreciate you reaching out to us. From here we recommend disconnecting the black cable from your battery and leaving disconnected for a minimum of five minutes. After five minutes, reconnect cable to battery and start engine. This will allow your system to reset. If your light is still illuminated, you may need to have an OBD scanner read your error codes. AutoZone will read codes for 100% free which will allow us to pinpoint the exact part causing your issues. Welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. 😎👍

Hey there my friend. I was having the same issue your having. My scanner did not turn my ABS light out after repair. Did you have any luck with brake trick? Just curious thank you.
@@josecastaing598 Hi, so sorry on a quicker response. Never got a notification. The answer is, "No, it did not work". All kinds of repairs done and light never goes out. On occasion it does flicker. Watched other video's, as well. One suggested checking the sensor ring if dirty clean it, if damaged worn replace it then drive a bit to see if it goes out. Next follow the line to where it hooks up on the tire wheel well wall and undo the clip, check for corrosion, dirt, moisture-water. If any try to clean what you can. If moisture-water let dry fully re-hook and test drive. Hook back up and drive a bit. He said heavy rains or going thru puddles can cause that one to kick up. If still on check all ABS fuses and relays there can be more than one on some vehicles. Pull ONE at a time and inspect. OR if you have a new and good fuse-relay plug it in and if the light goes out after driving a bit you found it. Do all fuses-relays. If all's good plug back in. The video showed some vehicles have three fuses. One regular flat and two boxier type. Use the panel graph to locate the correct fuse(s). He said last but not least was the computer part that is the main reader for the ABS can't remember the name, but is known by parts stores and mechanic's. The problem with that part is it is very, very expensive! Thousand or more depends on the vehicle. Was told could get it cleared by a mechanic for $75-$100. They run it thru a cycle of sorts. Not cheap either and ridiculous that no matter what is done by buying parts and fixing what you think it could be and none of the work shuts it. Most annoying at this point. Have you had any luck at all? If I find anything else I'll pass it on and maybe you could do the same. Best of luck!

Wild event you & your vehicle have been through the last few days...😲 We are so happy to hear things have realigned themselves. That sounds stressful & it makes it even more stressful when it happens after having your vehicle serviced by professional companies. We are always here to help answer questions along the way, us DIY’ers need to stick together! Keep us posted over the next few weeks on how your vehicle performs. Side note... we always recommend double checking your tire pressure after having your tires, brakes, or rims serviced. The reason behind this is because too often, vehicle owners are getting a new set of tires and then a few days later having their ABS light illuminate...only to find out that the shop didn’t bring up the tire pressure to the proper psi which leads to the onboard computer detecting the fault of low pressure...leading to ABS light illuminating. Hopefully many stress free days ahead for you Laurie. 😎👍🔧🔩
