I'm doing bookkeeping for a real estate investor and cleaning up books for 2023, there were two properties that were foreclosed on, and one that was short sold. I'm not sure how to do this entry, is this something you can go over? Thanks!

Conceptually it is the same. The difference will just be the names of the GL accounts used (and where they show up on the IS & BS). If you haven’t already figured it out, I’d be willing to give more info.

@@BookkeepingExpert @tommyreece5876 Having earned my degree in Accountancy 35 years ago, but, never practicing, I would say that this explanation showed the process in Quickbooks in a short and simple way. Yes, in real life many more details/entries/costs would be added in, however, Zach explained a difficult process in a clear way. For a more in depth explanation, I would feel comfortable contacting Zach. :)
