Hey Zach: a few days ago I asked you (on a different video) to tell us what you considered "bookkeeping." This explanation is perfect; a clear breakdown of bookkeeping using QBO that does not involve payroll or taxes. I am the "shared services" bookkeeper for six preschools that have one owner. I have almost the same routine for the schools as you have for your clients. Each school is a different 'class" and they share certain expenses. They also buy most school supplies from Amazon, so we have our Amazon Business account linked to QBO. Thanks for putting this together!

Zach, I do want to thank you for these videos. They’ve been incredibly informative and a huge motivator in getting my bookkeeping business going. HOWEVER, after a month of sending hundreds of emails and walking into dozens of businesses, I have yet to land a single client. They either tell me bookkeeping is too easy to pay someone else to do, or they have their own in-house bookkeeper. Starting to seriously doubt that this is a viable career path…

I have two additional question? 1. How much would be the lowest one should charge monthly for bookkeeping services? I know you spoke about this is one of the other videos but I forgot which video it was. 2. Would you recommend obtaining a bookkeeping certification other than quick books pro advisor?

1) Lowest $200-250 mo. 2) QB cert is all you need. Get to marketing next!

Hi, Zack. I have a question to you. When client wants to migrate from desktop to online. Do you ask your client to call to Quickbook support and they guide them through the process? I only can create online file where information will be migrated and after I can access it. Thank you!

I usually tell them to convert to QuickBooks online. Then I tell them that they can call me if they need any help or have any questions.
