When you were talking about not mixing carbs and fats when breaking a fast what if what you are eating is very low in carbs let’s say some chicken and a serving of green beans.

Black coffee. After fast: bone broth. Fast length: 16 hour fast... 8 hour meal time after. WORKOUT IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR FAST. No sweetners in coffee or tea. Dont mix FATS and CARBS because it will open up your cells and store fats in carbs in your cells. Start with 16 hours and then move to 18-20. Stop your eating at 10 pm then start eating at 2 PM. Caffeine helps boost fat loss and helps autophagy. Hope this helps anyone who doesnt have the patience to watch the whole video. Dont consume pre workouts during a fast. Sorry that the order is out of whack but I was just trying to get all the information down.

I started fasting back in 2018. Within 6 months, I lost over 70 pounds! Before 9 months I dropped a total of 85 pounds! My plan: 5 days a week I only eat dinner. So I’m fasting around 20-23 hours each day. Saturday and Sunday I try to just skip breakfast, but also eat lightly. And even though it’s been quiet some time, I still continue to fast 5 days a week at work.

@Joseph Cheung idk what drives your thaught right now. Watch the video. Ketosis, autophagy, BDNF production begin after around 24 hours. Call it not eating if you want. You can also not eat for 15 minutes. That won't give you the benefits, despite calling it not eating. I might miss the logic on this one.
@neinbruderja7519
@neinbruderja7519 3 года назад
@Joseph Cheung I mean you could also break your fast with small bits of food every few hours, that wonuldnt make such a caloric difference, yet technically break the fast regarding the benefits mentioned. Would be called starving, not fasting and I guess it would feel horrible.
@miq482

Tip 1: Change your mindset about food. Find a reason why you should fast daily. Tell yourself: "I dont need food to be happy or active. I always feel better when i do not eat..." If you are a Christian then you can add this: "It helps curb my desires and gives me more time to think and pray" Tip 2: Intermittent Fasting is a must do. Forget about keto diet, etc cos they are temporary and not habitual... IF is habitual and sustainable. Do not fast less than 16 hours a day. I do 18 or 20 daily, and drink water regularly... Tip 3: Meal prep is very important... Make sure you prepare your meals to last for at least 1 week, and they are easily microwaveable. It will stop you from eating unhealthy or unplanned meals. Ensure you add alot of veggies to your meals like carrots, beet, greens, ball peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc... They boost metabolic burning process and make your food rich... Tip 4: Less cardio, more strength exercises... Cardio makes you exhausted when fasting, but strength makes you feel stronger and muscle building increases your daily metabolic burning rate... I am 1-2 months in, already burnt more than 30% body fat, fitting into old clothes, feeling healthier, lighter and stronger... CONSISTENCY IS KEY!!! I wish you the best 👍

On my 3rd IF day of 20:4, I noticed a mood change. No more snapping, nor criticizing, or self-condemnation. Maybe because I released dark energy and preserved it for only goodwill. 2 Ways to think about a "DIET" 1. Eat what you want, but not when you want. 2. Eat when you want, but not what you want. I stared my new lifestyle of Intermittent Fasting about 3 months ago. Ive always been athletic, but I had put on some weight after college. I weighted 175 in college as a Div1 Athlete. I got up to 223 as an adult 10 years later. I should be at 185 for my height and age. From 223 to now (3months) I am down to 191, 32 solid pounds. I mean solid as in permanent hard core fat loss. I look lean again and can still get even more lean. I am looking forward to that part!! lol The crazy part about this lifestyle is that you adjust to it so well, that you actually feel full all the time, with plenty of energy, focus, and attention. Its crazy! You actually want to start breaking your fast with the healthy food instead of the junk i used to crave everyday. I even have to work out on my fast some times because of work and it feels exactly the same as when I work out while feeding. To be honest its not the best thing to do in the long term. The more fat you burn in your fasting state the less fat you burn while feeding. And you want to burn more while your feeding, right! check out what JIM STOPPANI says about fasted workouts. And why he doesn't recommend them! What Thomas is saying is absolutely on point by the way, however there has been some new additional research came out, its fascinating (do yourself a favor and look into it if you want to know the new science behind fasting workouts). My basic understanding is that the more lean you are, the better the fasting workout is. If you have a high BPI, then its not the best thing for you. I also want to point out how true it is that once your mind goes into the "survival state" it is almost magical. I am super focused, on point, my memory is astonishing, massive energy, its surreal.. I highly recommend this to anyone that you truly care about, including yourself! In this culture we have ritualized our habits and routines. Especially with the way we all were brought up to believe, feed, sleep. Break the eating ritual. Start a new and improved (with science and education) eating ritual. Intermittent Fasting.

Funny thing is that we Indians always had this in our religion but never realized the value untill now. We have dry fast 2wice a year one in March n one in October (although has a religious story behind it). Religious fasting of no solid food on Mondays and Thursdays. Also Jainism strictly follows fasting after dinner until next morning 8am. So 12 to 14 hrs fasting everyday with 2 solid food fasting in a week and 2 dry fasting a year. Also most of Indians are vegetarians. Now get the entire logic behind this after watching this vedio...

Excellent information! I've been working out (abdominal exercises, push ups, & cardio for one year and I've lost 4" (38" to 34") off my waist, but I see no reason that I should not have the 30" waist I had as a 20 year old. I am 52 & epileptic. I have been in hospital or rehabilitation center for 3 1/2 years. Although I can't control the food they give me, I have no excuse for not exercising. I go to sleep by 18:00 every night, so I am awake, ready to workout at 0400 or 0500, before I have time to find excuses to not workout. By 0700 each day I have worked out & showered!🙂 I am starting fasting today. I am taking nothing but water until breakfast (0830) tomorrow. Wish me luck! 😉

I was a vegan for 6 years and went keto about 2 years ago... I went keto because I had a heart attack in the 6th year of being a vegan so we switched over to keto which not only cleared out my arteries but also healed the damaged part of my heart. It's amazing and if you have health problems you should at least try it. We then included intermittent fasting and everything changed for the good.

16-8 windows Eat a lot fiber before fasting Do not eat carbs with fat to break the fast (insulin opens cells and let fat in -> not good) Drink black coffee or tea Workout during the fasting -> burn more fat especially in muscles The longer you fast, the sharper your brain is. Fasting makes us become more focused also. Woman bodies send more hunger signals than men’s Intermittent fasting helps building more muscles compared to normal eating windows. If the supplements have carb or calories, they break the fast. Alcohol is toxic, liver not functioning well -> burn fast less effectively.

Ive been lifting since i was 15 and did a full deepdive at 20 prior to joining the military. Im 26 now and only train one muscle group one day a week. Never eat until after 1pm and usually have 1-2 meals a day max. Ive maintained my strength and body weight at 185. I dont eat alot of protein. Very easy to maintain longevity with fasting as it boosts HGH levels. Any time i want to train for a race or have a goal to lift more its easily met in 2-3weeks. And i have more mental clarity/energy then ever. Not eating all the time is a superpower.

Keep it easy & simple. -Don’t eat anything in 16 hours (includes sleeping time) and eat some good stuff in 8 hours. -during the “not eating hours” drink black coffee / tea / water ONLY without adding any SUGAR or CREAM at all. No diet coke, diet soda, or whatever else except those three liquid. Well, people always give excuses that it’s okay to add just a little. But if that’s the plan, don’t waste your time in the fasting plan. That’s about it, stick to the plan and never give up to see results. Trust me, it works 100%. Thomas explained it in a more detailed way. But my summarisation is the fundamentals.

I started intermittent fasting August 2019. I have lost 30 pounds and counting. In 2020, I plan on increasing the length of time on my daily fast from 16-8 to 18-6 and hope finally to 20-4. It truly works.

Did you change what you eat or you lost all the weight by just doing IF....?
@ernestojr.acosta972
@ernestojr.acosta972 4 года назад
Saydo yasin I did have to curtail alot of the foods that I love especially carbs. I also went back to the gym and did alot of cardio. I do allow myself a cheat day once a week whereby I can have a slice of cake or a scoop of ice cream, just to keep my sanity. What I realized with intermittent fasting is that it is difficult in the beginning, but since it is a lifestyle change, I got very used to it and has become part of my life. Good luck with your journey.

The part about "when to work out" is so spot on. Haven't heard it explained so thoroughly and truthfully. When I used to fast I really felt weak closer to the end of my fast and working out would have been almost futile.

It is interesting that as a Muslim I have been doing this since I was 13 years old (now 42). I was unaware of ALL of the health benefits. It's positive to see more people are on board with it although ours is a dry fast, so no food or water between sunrise and sunset.
@anthonystach6434
@anthonystach6434 2 года назад
Out of curiosity with a dry fast, do you find yourself hungry first or thirsty first? I've only started intermittent fasting last week and I've had to start drinking a ton of water to help with the initial cravings.
@aysinduarte
@aysinduarte 2 года назад
@@anthonystach6434 I find it is dependent on the season. It is summer here in Australia so I feel thirsty first most days , however in the colder months hunger definitely comes first. It is pretty amazing what our bodies can tolerate and it will get easier. I do intermediate fasting all the time now, no breakfast anymore, with my last mail being at around 730pm the night before which varies. I honestly can easily go until 1pm without being desperate to eat. It takes time to get to this point but it is worth it

I went from 210lbs to 171lbs doing intermittent fasting and still on my weight loss journey during this it absolutely changed my mentality and fixed my relationship with food, less crazy sugar cravings and the hunger I had that felt like I was starving and overeating! Literally everything is better now I can't stop mentioning the changed, but I absolutely enjoy my morning fasting and enjoy my food, I crave healthier food and my sugar cravings are normal, I don't feel awful after eating now.

This is great info. I've been doing the IF for a week now, can't wait to see results after 4 weeks. I'm a Muslim btw and we do dry fast during Ramadhan for 30 days every year between 12-16 hrs (basically from sunrise to sunset, which means the hours depend on where you live). I can tell you by the 7th day my body feels lighter and I feel like I have more energy and I don't crave for sugar or junk as I used to. I can lose up to 5kg during the month or even more if I control my calorie intake. I would suggest for those who has never done dry fast to try, but perhaps do it once every 2 days for practice. It'll get easier once you get the hang of it. Good luck! UPDATE: Since my last comment - I have lost about 3 kgs in 7 days. I also eat not more than 1200 calories per day! UPDATE 2: It's been 2 weeks since I did the IF. I've lost 5kgs :) I'm now 51kg. Will only stop when I'm 49kg. Oh btw, if you think this is too skinny, I'm actually just 155cm of height, so that targeted weight is perfect for me. I also run 3times a week and do some exercises just to keep my body toned.

Then add exercise in mornings . After 8pm. I'm told I shouldn't eat that late and I have a set lunch break that does not line up with the 16/ 8 plan and there is no eating at my desk.

I have been doing IF over 10 years. I love it. I managed to keep my weight stable and help me with my running and fitness. The problem I have a boyfriend now and I am struggling to fast in the evening cos we want to have dinner together as we both work full time and that's the only time we spend together during the week. I used to do 24h fast 4 days, now hardly doing one and started to gain weight 😢 I feel terrible and it stressed me out big time. Please help. I work 8 to 6 Mon to Friday 5 days and we like to go out at weekends.
