Today, I am going to share with you how to do a DIY video on how to build an Improved Livewell tank for your boat. It is simple, professional, cheap, easy, and fast.
Materials needed to build the live bait tank:
1- 15-gallon cylinder drum.
2- 1/2'' bulkhead for tank intake and 2'' bulkhead for tank outlet.
3- 1/2'' check valve.
4- 1/2'', 15'' PVC pipe
5- 1/2'' PVC cap
6/ 1/2'' PVC male thread connector
7/ 2'' strainer
8/ 2'' flexible hose
9/ 2 1/2'', 2'' long PCP pipes

Very good design and great video Thuy. I like how you melted the container to contour it to the valve and and putting the PVC in the bottom so water flows nicer. Big thumbs up 👍 !!!!

Thanks for watching. I have not checked the latest guidelines, but I always practice safely. I also got tested for Covid and antibody. If you go with a friend outside of your living house hold, I you just need to make sure your friends do not have Covid or try to social distancing at your best and wear mask.

I brought the drum in Crow landing, CA near Los banos through Facebook marker place. Bulkheads on Amazon. Other fitting , hose at home Depot. If you are near me, I can do one for you. Just pay the materials. No more than $50 with out a pump.

Thanks for watching. It is depends on each person's choice. It is also depend on where you want to fish and how far. I have a small alluminum boat and I can go as far as 20 miles along the coast and 15 miles out depend on the water conditions. My boat is Gregor Baja is designed for ocean and it can protect me from getting wet because of the high deep vee in the front. There are two things you need to look at when you fish in the ocean. First, the boat design for ocean. I like Bay Runner, Gregor Baja, Arima... Second, you need to look at water conditions: swell, wind waves, periods, and winds. Wind and wind waves are related. If winds are 12kts or more, the wind waves will probably 2" and you should not go. You so need to learn how to look at different swells, waves, periods to be safe. I hope to answer your question. So 15 gallon tank is enough for how much live bait so it won't be crowded? 1/2 scoop? I was gonna do a 20 gal but really wide and bulky your 15 15 gal looks thinner. Also any way to close the top with a lid for heavy sea condition?

You can do 1/2 scoop of anchovies. You can use the cutout as the lid. Use stainless steel hinges for the lid. Email me so I can show you how to do it. I have a couple 15 bait tank at home and I can give it to you.

My 20 gallon blue tank is very slim. Only 15" in diameter and 30" tall. Look at my video on bait tank and may be the answer for you.
