I use the same obd2 to obd1 conversion piece. I actually am using a stock obd2b harness.. converted all the plugs to obd1.. then had to modify that harness for the h22a1 engine when I got that. Turned out great. Good note is to make sure that conversion piece is plugged in snugged. My first start up didn’t happen because it wasn’t plugged in tight enough.
I have caprice 1994 obd1 12 pin connector i tried to scan with bluetooth i used obd2 to obd1 adapter but i doesn work how does work? is there way to convert obd1 to obd2 other than using obd2 to obd1 adaper thanks
Hey I got a question hopefully you will see this! So I swapped a obd2a d16 into my 2000 civic which is obd2b... do I use a jumper to change the obd2a harness into a obd2b manual ecu? My car has an extra plug that comes from the car harness.
I have a non vtec '94 Accord (F22) automatic, can I use a P28? what should I look for, what ECU can I pop in there - I thought I heard you say I could put the P28 in??
I also have a question, I have an obd1 p28 and mine is obd2 for automatic and I use the same converter but when using it the transmission feels heavy and it advances but it does not make the changes that could be made
Hey I have a 97 integra ls but I have a b16a swap so it’s a obd2 to obd1 and a cel popped up and the obd2 scanner obvisouly isn’t scanning it, how do I find the code
I put a jumper harness on a 97 Honda Civic stick shift, now one plug is not connecting at all. Space left has pins to connect did I buy the wrong one? Which one was supposed to be left off in video? Mine is the second big one
Hey I have a Honda Civic 2000 with a d16y8 I’m getting a p28 do I need do this exactly? ... or is it a different ? Please let me know really don’t know bout this
How would you pass inspection like this. I basically have the same thing just on a b16 jdm swap and was also Manual swapped but I can’t pass inspection in NY?
Why does the P3X has 2 Connectors? U have got like 4. Why does the D14A3 has only have 2 Connectors? Does the Conversion jumper even work on a D14A3? Someone that can explain me?
And the engine harness you're using is all obd2 correct? No swapping harness or anything? I've got a b16a2 obd2 and i'm trying to convert it to a obd1 ecu but my question is .... - do i need to convert the dizzy from obd2 to obd1 IF I do convert the ecu to obd1?
Good deal on the cam upgrade, maybe it's just the audio but sounds like the lifters are a bit noisy. Timing chain, belt or gears while you're in there?
Its the transmission. Making noise I have a spare if it blows but engine itself sounds great but the phone audio makes it sound way worse than normal. Its hardly noticeable in person. Idk why its like that lol
Wait so if I want a chipped obd1 ecu for my 97 civic I just need this jumper? I thought you had to convert all the leads on the harness going out to each connector.
FroztiProductions u only need the obd2 to obd1 ecu harness and ecu. UNLESS you install a obd1 engine with odd1 distributor in the car. If ur keeping the stock engine that came in the car then u just need the harness adapter and the ecu.
Moore Motorsports James Dguy hey so I took my 5 speed four cylinder engine out of my 1995 Honda Accord and put it in a 1996 Honda Accord bought the obd2 to obd1 jumper harness and plugged in the the obd1 computer out of my 1995 but the car isn’t starting...it’s starting with the automatic computer tho....how can I fix this ?
I'm doing a auto to manual swap on a 99 Acura GS Integra can I do this and then use a p28 ECU without I reflash I don't have VTEC head yet and want to be able to drive it for a while without it
Hey man what you end up doing for your ecu I’m going to swap my 99 integra too and want to know if obd2 to obd1 then convert the ecu to manual by removing rp17 and installing jumper for rp18 is the way to go if I don’t find a manual obd1 ecu, will it work ?
Please help bro... So your idle would jump?? Mine jumps when the engine is warm, it goes like that, from like 1500-1600/1700.... no clue what it is. And also if I’d keep it revved at 2k it will actually jump up and down from 1500-2000 by itself as long as my foot is on the gas, almost sounds like a rotary or something
Sounds like a air idle control valve/Vacuum leak or low coolant. Check them first but if that don't work then check dizzy i replaced mine with one from my parts bin and it fixed my issue. There is also a OBD2 wiring pin that needs done if it was auto but you might have to google the obd2-obd1 conversion issues. Its been awhile since i did this exact fix.
I need help!!!! 1997 D16y8 obd2a into a 1989 civic sedan obd0. Ive already got a d16z6 crankshaft to replace the crappy y8 one. Ive been looking for the ecu for the engine. Ive also looked on rywire and cant make sense of it. Plus not trying to drop $850 on wire. The old obd0 harness is screwed. So what i have right now is a obd0 car, obd1 z6 harness and an obd2a engine. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Hmu at civicchriss on ig. If that dosent find me try Chris's civic.
Hello friend, interesting your video. my case is as follows, my car is a Honda Civic 96 with engine d16y8 ... we have changed the engine for a d15z8 and has the same distributor of the previous engine (obd2a connector) ... with the ecu obd2a the car fails like in your video ... with the ecu obd1 the car does not turn on. the wiring of the car is obd2a ... will you tell me where I have the problem?
Nobel Del Mar We ended up being able to use the auto ecu. The p28 was a manual ecu we had a crap dizzy and caused so much issues. We did the crank position bypass then a new dizzy and everything smoothed out
Hi, i have ek3 with D15z6 engine i will do swap cam and bridge from d16z6 and ecu p28 with base map will i need only these harness plug and play or somethning else? Thanks nice video.
Bro did you have to convert the y8 dizzy or did the ecu jumper harness take care of that without having to mess with the dizzy plug when going from obd2a to obd1
As long as you use a y7 or y8 dizzy you will be fine. Nothing needs done unless you are using a z6 engine then you will need a Z6 dizzy and dizzy conversion harness otherwise all other D swaps can use the y7 or y8 dizzy. Hope that helps
Jake Cartwright the engine and engine harness for the 99 civic as well. Mounts and so on. If it has a obd2 distributor you will need a obd2-obd1 distributor conversion harness as well
So take my stock 00' gsr out of my integra, replace it with the 94' gsr motor, and all I will have to switch is a conversion harness for my distributer from obd2-obd1? And ecu from obd2-obd1?
I have caprice 1994 obd1 12 pin connector i tried to scan with bluetooth i used obd2 to obd1 adapter but i doesn work how does work? is there way to convert obd1 to obd2 other than using obd2 to obd1 adaper thanks
Will this work the same for the zc motor? And will I have problems with inspections? Also if u lived near me I’d give you a d16 motor for free lol runs good. Just don’t need it
Wow I could use a spare. And Idk if it would pass inspection we dont have them down here but im pretty sure u could tune a chipped ecu to run good enough to pass inspection.
James Dguy I’m in nc if I had a truck I’d bring it to u I have no use for it. It’s still in the car my other motor should be here soon. Your videos really help out.
If I had money id pay for u to freight it here but im all broke now -_-. Glad my videos help. But hang on to engine ill see if I Cant figure something out lol
792bnz no clue I dont work on accords really but id assume it would since it's basically the same as civic. I would do a google search to be sure since I am unsure
@@JamesDguy now I use zc single cam engine with head 3 stage and complete wiring auto 3 stage.what harness i supposed to use?I want to use ecu p28.sorry about my language
My friend James help me with something man, i wanna swap an h22 into an eg5 can you hit me up with a message about how to properly do the wiring? Do you have facebook or something so we can chat?
Hola amigo tengo un civic 94, le estoy montando un motor d16y8, quiero saber si comprando el cableado del d16y8 y el convertidor podría usarlo en mi obd1
Ryan O'Brien In videos I did after this one I built a high compression engine and tuned it and it was fun but when you get offered 3,500$ for a car you paid 300$ for and out 1000$ into then you take it as a win and sell! Lol but I cleaned it up repainted it and it looked hella clean. There is more videos on that car if you browse my content
James D guy I have the same sedan, maybe a different trim; I have the LX. I’m also running a non-vtec but I want to run a turbo and have supporting mods for it. My goal is no more than 200hp reliably cause it’s also my daily
go with a computer from 92 VX !!! you will get 40-45 mpg and your vtec will kick in at 2500rpm thats what I had and it was a stock best lol with jdm d15b block and VX head
Br4ndon_ V was a stock y8 with some bolt ons. Now it has y7 bottom end with arp studs, p29 high compression pistons, y8 head, 8lb flywheel and stage 2 clutch. It will be getting put back together in the next few days
