The sharp overtone you speak of is a technique derived from Mongolian throat singers, which a key feature of which is that a single person can produce two notes at the same time. Very cool being applied to metal like this. Never knew thats how pig squeals were done.
I NEVER believed that squealing can be taught. And I always believed that ONLY people with a decent sized torsos or upper bodies (never the thin guys) can do it. Thus changes everything! Thanks for giving me a brand new set of eyes. I tried doing it without any voice, just the air and it seems like it'll work. It's 11pm and everybody's sleeping so I cant do it with the voice itself. I like how you explained that the pig squeal is a position that you make in your mouth not a different distortion method. A great explanation keep up the great vocals
I've always wanted to learn to scream but cant get it down one day I found out I have a natural talent for pig squeals but its great to learn the different variations and maybe one day I'll be able to sound awesome
Are you doing an inhale pig squeal? I don't know if it exists but an inhale scream is a reverse fry scream and is dangerous. So doing an inhale pig squeal is dangerous

Came across this video just now. Awesome explanation. I know, you said, you prefer fry screams for pig squeals. But could you still show a false chord one?
It is really easy to do, it is kind of like snoring only your inhaling in a different way that is high pitched. To do this you have to flip your tongue up to the roof of the mouth and inhale.
I learned to scream while drunk and fucking around "singing" Johnny Cash. I don't know how I will be able to hit this, I just get deeper but I can't hit the real squeal.
Quick question. Getting into this but the only way I can do it so far is inhaling. Is this the correct way? That being said, I can do it for a REALLY long time.
