i watched so much pro footage but i‘ve never noticed the air dash... much thanks... i went crazy in training mode trying to figure that shit out... thought the timing is mad strict
@@jamesread3454 It's actually not that hard, you just need to get used to fast inputs. You just need to pay attention to the characters, after the IAD j.M hits, immidiately input dash (that's the buffer window) and when you see your character touching the ground, jump. Remember not all characters can do it, Cell is the easiest imo
For those of you still struggling to do it, after learning this myself I have three tips for thinking about the combo that helped me- 1. As you're running the sequence in your head as you do the combo think about doing an iad or a dash jump as *one* input like it's any other button. Thinking about dashing as "pressing forward-forward" for example made me do it way slower then if I thought "dash-input". It's just too many inputs to think about at the same time. So instead of thinking the inputs being forward-forward M forward-forward upper-diagonal jump L, it's now dash-input M dash-jump L. 2. Learn each part separately. Practice timing the iad jM, then practice doing dash jumping, then practice jumping and doing a dash jump as soon as you land, then try and put it together. 3. The timing is way too tight to be timid, especially after the initial super dash and *especially* in the corner. Trust your inputs and throw caution to the wind. This goes without saying but practice until you get it. It took me about an hour to get it once and about 2 to get it any semblance of consistent. have patience and self-discipline, turn on some tunes, and bang it out
@@julioescobar8872 66 then 9 / double tap forward(66) until you are dashing then forward jump(9).the numbers are the stick direction and use a num pad as a reference 789 456 123
I watched this almost a year ago and I finally landed my first rejumps online thank you so much I still can’t count how many times I watched this video
Always love the knowledge bombs you drop dude. Still kinda sad you dropped 16 since it's my favorite character and you were def the best 16 player to watch. I get why you did it and it makes sense but still kinda sucks is all. Good luck in the coming tournies, man.
@@SimpleMilkshake after the iad j.m? you input dash but you don't need to wait for the dash to happen. You just do it, and you can buffer it but you don't actually have too, it just makes the timing easier.
Also to note that while some char can do a rejump without the 669, A21 has to do it otherwise the j.LLL -> j.2H wont connect, you need the inertia of the dash (66) to be able to connect j.H -> j.2H
Ok, so one tip I have is that you'll want to input the IAD right AS the superdash hits them. Buffer that shit. Put it in your headspace that you're gonna input it slightly before you really do it, because it's counting the first 6 input slightly earlier than you might be anticipating. It's a muscle memory/learning thing there. I was trying these and then I kept forgetting this and started messing up, so I had to visualize the part of it that I had forgotten. If you can't get the IAD medium to hit, try doing the dash inputs slightly earlier! EDIT: that's basically his advice for the dash jump, too. I think the thing with it is visualizing the dash inputs is that they're two inputs, but even if the first input is during another action, it'll still read it. It's a weird thing with the fighting game inputs.
For anyone still watching this. If you delay super dash until the camera zooms back out from the 5h cinematic, and right when the camera resets, superdash and you'll get perfect timing 👌 that makes it easy for me.
I don't think I'll be able to do this all the time online, but I landed it after about 3 hours. I still have to land it more times than that before I'm happy *sigh*
Great video Sage. Really helpful video. Do you have any tips for doing the rejump for Cell in the corner? I can do it like 1 time out of 20. different timing maybe ? Mid screen is fine
you still delay the super dash but its a much smaller delay! Depending on where you are on screen affects how much delay you need to do, which I forgot to mention x(
Hardest part is definitely the dash jump buffer for me. I'm just a tad too slow on the dash jump, I get so close that I could probably use this to try for resets though lmao.
I can delay super dash and iad jm, but the other half of the rejump is the hardest. The 669l input just seems too hard to input, especially when I have to buffer it. What should I do?
Everyone always said to do it after they wall bounces and I ALWAYS mistimed it. Fucking THANK YOU. Now my 21 and Janemba can be even better. By chance do you have a vid on how to properly/consistently do cross-ups?
Hey man, I’m having trouble landing this with Trunks. I use the short cut super dash button for instant dashes. Is that the problem? Is the timing different for Trunks? Any tips? Thanks
Kinda late but I just realized something for those still struggling. I felt like I got the right timing but couldn't get the buffer part consistently, sometimes it just neutral jumped or forward jumped instead of dash jump. But if u hold forward on the air jump mid before dash jumping the buffering is much more consistent.
Man I've been practicing these for 3 years and I still just don't *get* the delayed SD. Airdash jM buffer dashjump jL is nothing to me. I can do jH 5L corner combos but I can't do rejumps. I just cannot wrap my muscle memory around how to delay the superdash. I always do it too late or too early and the whole thing is fucked.
Great explanation. But as someone who has played fighting games for 30 years, this isn't "pretty easy". It's very unnatural extremely tight timing for IAD - M. You double tilt the stick very quickly then ever so slightly delay the M. If you don't time it down to the frame, the M won't register after IAD. Not worth it for online play. I recommend practing the timing for Homing Dash - IAD - M first before timing the HD. Otherwise you'll frustrate yourself.
Do some characters have rejump combo routes that are specific to them only? Example, Cell can do 5M 669 j.L but would that be the same for let’s say Goku Black?
Is it really that worth doing? I play characters who either have really hard rejumps or none at all AFAIK so I don't really learn them, but I notice a LOT of times pro players (like a lot of people in the HOC including people who usually make it to the GF's) will tend to drop this even offline. So is it worth risking a dropped combo for this?
I can only do it with adult gohan, and that’s cause you dont have to dash jump after 66 J.M>3H>S.J L. I can’t for the life of me get it with anyone else
That means you're not doing it right. You have to do super dash as soon as he's about to hit the wall, then after you super dash delay the airdash medium and you should drop.
So on an xbox controller its heavy-->delayed superdash-->Air dash M once the superdash hits(Pressing forward on the d-pad twice)--> buffer(again)--> wait for the character to hit the ground-->basic jump(moving the analog stick up)-->combo like normal?
Any character with a standard 5H and j. M. Characters that come in mind: All Gokus, All Vegetas, A. Gohan, Vegito, 21, 16, Tien, etc. Characters like Teen Gohan I believe you can do it but it's not needed due to his corner carry already being amazing.
Hi thanks for the video. I just need some help, I tried rejump for 3 months and I don't know what is going on: 3 months 0 rejump, simply not working. I play dbfz on Xbox with wireless series X controller Dpad. I do all correct, SD (delay), 66jM, (land), 669jL but the enemy always always escape from combo. I swear, seems like there is a micro delay in the game. For me, rejumps are impossibile... Can you help me in some way? Please 🙏 (try C21, Goku SS, and many many others).
picanso maleno Look up fighter notation. j means jumping, 2 is the down input, and M is medium. It’s move that cell has that he uses in the air basically.
sage i cant do it man. I can not get the j.l to connect man im not sure what im doing wrong. the inputs all look correct on the side but he just pops out so fast
@@dekillsage thanks for the reply, i just picked up cell yesterday so i didnt know if its my incompetence that let me fail that combo or just the most recent patch and its changes. it took me some time but i eventually got it down :D
Same bro. I've been practicing this for like several hours now and I actually managed to hit the jump light only twice. He did mention that you should 669 when the medium hits but the timing is so fucked and hidden it's impossible to find.
@@blank4142 i been trying since last year bro and my execution is crazy i have sparking loops and everything and cant land no rejumps never hit one after almost 500+ trys
Keep on doing it, *NEVER* give up man. Everything seems hard in the beginning but true mastery of anything skill wise? comes with dedication doesn't it! Practice practice and practice is always key o.k.! Wish you well in your gaming endeavors!
