Have had these experiences later on my spiritual journey. At around that time, I started to feel a calling to share my ‘knowing’ with the world as a spiritual teacher. Your way of explaining it is marvelously simple yet poignantly illuminating. I applaud you! May the blessings keep showering upon you. 🙇🏼‍♀️🙏🏻

Thank you so much, Forrest! You just explained what I ran across one day while meditating. Yes, a fantastic pull on the soul that connects at once with the divine. I had no words for this experience, but now I do! It's great when the intellect can also share in the knowing with my feeling! Pointers are powerful.

Just came out of my meditation and had to come here because that's exactly what I have been experiencing this whole week my eyes get pulled so hard and uncontrollably to that position that I was worried, I will remember to focus on the medulla next time. Thanks I acquired your 4th breath phase course last weekend and this week I've had crazy intensives experiences during my meditation sessions. Blessing my teacher.

I experienced that mudra regularly without having heard of it, as a result of exploring the visual field behind closed eyes while relaxing the eyes. My experience was that the eyebulbs were pressed back into their sockets, so at the time I concluded that all the talk about looking through the third eye was an unneccesarily complicated detour. For me it was easier to just relax and let the eyes be naturally pushed back on their own. This is something that happens in phases nowadays, not always. It has presented beautiful images of sacred geometry, mainly flat ones but also a version of the flower of life that was like a 3D donut warping around itself. The imagery only happens in a deeply equanimous and at the same time chrystal clear and extremely fine-tuned mind state, and that grace is bestowed on me on rare occasions only. I had the spontaneous Kundalini awakening without doing any practice and suffered from chronic fatigue and chronic pain and brain fog. I still have very extensive and unexplained food intolerances with severely disabling symptoms if I digress from a very strict diet that I had to find on my own. Yoga and meditation eventually helped me to get out of bed, though. I had never heard about Kundalini until I googled my symptoms and found a website that warned about yoga and meditation because of the risks of premature Kundalini awakening. Kind of ironic. Yoga and meditation saved my life. I’d say that Kundalini is an excellent teacher now that I listen. When I fail to listen, it shouts.

Still walking the path, and the pitfalls remain. Listening to your videos helped me get back on track. I just had some nice visuals - not the chrystal clear ones, but getting there - and had a sore hip heal itself and open up. I still need to learn what makes the peak experiences possible and how to apply it more systematically as well as integrate it in daily life. I struggle a lot with stuff that is easy for most people. Our society doesn’t really cater to the way my brain is wired, so to speak.

Hello! I started practicing this a few days ago and I was wondering if it was normal for it to hurt when you try to look up, is it ok to close your eyes to make it more comfortable, is it possible to see though your eyes, can you astral project while doing his meditation practice, do you have to keep your tongue all the way on the top roof of your mouth as far as you can go or only to were it feels ok, and are you supposed to roll your eyes as far as you can go or is it to the point only were it is comfortable? I ask this because while doing this I closed my eyes and did it and I was able to see thee environment around me but I couldn’t see the people that were there and I was wondering if that was because I broke away from the physical realm into the spiritual realm. Also when I do this practice my eyes twitch and force my gaze to come back down. If you could help me I would appreciate it very much thank you and have a nice day/night! P.S Best of blessings on your journey everyone!
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 5 лет назад
Great questions! It might feel awkward or a little uncomfortable at first, however it should never hurt. Yes, close your eyes to make it comfortable, for sure. You're actually seeing with something which is not your physical eyes, but an inner intuitive eye that witnesses directly. I made a video on this subject: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jUb1s-v_QpM.html&t As far as you are comfortable, and over time you will progress in the stretch. Only roll the eyes to the point where it is comfortable. Wow, interesting experience! You had a flash from the Right Hippocampus, which is spacial and pictorial. Give your body time to adjust to the new posture. Soon the twitching will reduce and disappear, and the eyes will become established in a comfortable habit.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. This is the first video i see of you, but is great. When you explained to look at the 3rd eye and than draw or sink back in to the medula oblongata, i tryed it and immediatly, i went into Ketchari mudra (the tongue went back to the medula aswell), my back curled hollow and went into trance. This is really beautifull, and much diffrent from only looking with the gaze projected only to the forehead, 3rd eye area. I must say, my body reacting strong, is known for me, were i have had a strong kundalini awakening since 2006 and even stronger openings since 2014. Have spontanuos mudra's, asana's, chantings, pranayamas, i sometimes see past lifes, symbols, write spontanous old scripture like teksts etc. And go through i humbling process, bowing for Grace, Source, God. Bowing many many times a day, spontanous in namasté, sinking in grace. Also go through personal proces, humbling in experiansing from the heart more and more how life happens in people in relation etc. It is a continual unfolding and opening. And in this, the last years, also recovering from Lyme disease, wich brings it's own humbling proces in finding naturopath ways of healing and totaly accepting wat is at the same time (for long time, i wasn't able to do anything - too sick - to much pains, tiredness etc). In this process the kundalini was times more silent, just to be able to heal, and other times back, in all it's beautifull expressions. Must say i rarely sit to meditatie, so much already happens spontanous, that it is sometimes better to not seek for new, for the kundalini rush can give energie, but can still cost me energy aswell. It can sometimes take hours, before the trance is over. I wanted to thank you. Looking forward to watch more video's of you.

@@ForrestKnutson Thank, you so much. Yes, God bless you to! Your video's are really helpfull. Could i ask maybe, if the khechari mudra is indeed, connected to the practice you explained with the eye's to the third eye and than sinking back to the medula. For me this is at least what happened, with the tongue in responce going in kechari. Thank you.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 4 года назад
@@ericagreefhorst1193 it's absolutely possible, as you well experienced, but depends on the automatic activation of that portion of the vagus that travels through the tongue. So not everyone will have the same experience, even going deep. It's a beautiful thing when it all comes together as you described, which is why these practices are often taught together. Though, each is also a great stand alone practice, as well.

Hello Forrest, I notice some of the commentators are concerned that these "techniques" should only be taught by gurus on a one-to-one basis. May i add my tuppence-worth? I think a simple warning that no one who is using mind-altering substances (including alcohol) should try these techniques without direct personal guidance from an experienced practitioner such as yourself. In addition I would not recommend folk who are not making any effort whatsoever to practice the niyamas and yamas are also at risk of becoming confused by some of the outcomes of these practices. Finally anyone who has been diagnosed with a mental illness by a psychiatrist or psychologist should also avoid practicing these techniques, unless under very direct one-to-one personal supervision by an experienced practitioner. These are standard warnings given by good Buddhist meditation "teachers". Be well, friend!

FK I'm glad you mentioned the medulla. I've been meditating for years. Shambavi Mudra has always been difficult for me. Recently, while meditating, I was yearning to find silence and dwell on inner peace. Suddenly I felt a tingling in my medulla (at the exact place of the Aha Moment that you mentioned). It was quite pleasant. While dwelling on it, I felt my eyes gently pulled to the Kutastha. So, the way I practice Shambavi Mudra now is by way of the medulla! First, I let my attention focus on the medulla. This brings me peace and ever so gently pulls my eyes towards the Kutastha. (I must admit, that I still don't know how to do Shambavi Mudra. When I will my eyes to look up, it feels very unnatural and I never know exactly where to look... that's why I rely on the medulla to "pull" my eyes up). Does this make sense?

This is what has been happening to me for about 13 or more years - a magnetic pull or feeling in the 3rd eye, or Ajna. I did not know what it was until now. I still have it in the company of one other person. I thought it might be a weird anomaly, however, now I know it is real. I use to think that my body is a rotating magnetic field. That was the best way to describe what has been happening to me. Thank you for putting this video out. I am really starting to understand a lot more of what has been happening to me. There is no one in my area to personally talk to though. I do not like that. I would rather have a guru helping me. This has been going on for years and years, and its all making sence now, from me watching your videos. THank you Forrest!

I wanted to add too, that i have done EMDR therapy and another one called Brain Spotting and what i noticed it that the "positive healing thought' always came for me with that eye position - - - i wonder about that and the "ah ha' moment. Every single healing mantra that i came up with in therapy - was at that eye position.

Is this answer to the question I’ve had for several years now? That the pressure in my forehead during meditation is shambhavi mudra? If this is the case, then shambhavi mudra has a very pleasant quality to it, and the sensations of it lends itself to concentration very well. There is a vastness to it, and an emptiness. I’ve had times when I was really focused in on these sensations and the pressure began to include upper portions of my head, kind of like singing a high note with my brain. It is similar to what I feel when I clench my ear muscles, but much deeper. I realize this is probably due to blood flow activation in the area of the ajna, but it has an otherworldly quality to it. At other times, it has been so strong that it gives me a head ache. I learned about it because I have another sensation that I can activate in my body-the feeling of clenching the muscles of “another body”. So one day I decided to produce that clenching sensation in my forehead to see what would happen. That’s when I discovered the “third eye pressure”. I have no idea what I’m doing here. I’m just meditating and trying to go deep. I know these sensations have physical correlates, but it feels deeper than anything physical. And relaxing muscles doesn’t remove these sensations. Actually, once the pressure has built up, the pressure kind of has a mind of its own and can be difficult to shut down. I wonder what kind of mudra the whole sensation would be called. Soma Mudra?
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 5 лет назад
Jon! Those are great experiences. That magnetic sensation is the 1st Knot of Lahiri Mahasaya. I have a couple videos on this. As the energy of the body returns to the brain, in the projections of the brain that we call chakras, is they also returned to the brain oh, there is this archetypal experience of those projections being unraveled. That's what these three Sensations are. The whole body Sensation that you're experiencing may be akin to the heart knot.

Sir I have been struggling with Kundalini syndrome for 3 years after a spontaneous awakening during seated meditation. My main symptoms are disrupted sleep and extreme pressures and vibrations in the head and sinus area and sometimes in the back of the neck below the skull and in the mid- upper spine area. I have had some anxiety fits as well. Also lots of muscle jerks and humming noises in the right ear. Any recommendation as to what I might do to fix this? In the past I have eliminated it through absolute surrender, self enquiry, and feeling gently into the blockage and through stillness guiding it downward, and then like a snake the energy moves down to the lower chakras. What makes it worse is Bij mantra, focusing on it, most pranayama. I have seen many healers with no success The magnetic feeling in the forehead that you mention is largely what I have experienced in regards to the pressure. I will be sure to try bringing gentle attention to the medulla. Please respond if you have any other tips as this has made my it very hard to function at work and in many areas of life. Thankyou
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 5 лет назад
Hi Cole! That's my first and foremost recommendation, to make the medulla your very best friend. Let the magnetic sensation sink into its "home" by going in that direction. ...Definitely do not do anything that makes it worse. I recommend a LOT of vitamin D and B12 as these get used up in an awakening. You might want to get those levels tested, as they will assuredly be low. .... I have a video on Grounding Breath. You want to make that exercise your Bread and Butter. ... Also, the Left and Right Equalization Meditation video, and the Modeling the Heart of Qigong video. Those 2 work with the Caudate Nucleus in the brain, which will help you to balance the experience of these energies. .... Also, the Magnesium Foot soak video, as this will help the whole system to relax and find balance. We think that balance is a simple thing, yet this idea, this current runs so deep. This will also help you to surrender and let go into the process. ... The humming you just need to live with. If you listen to it attentively, it will deepen and transform into the sound of OM. That's where it's going. ... There's one more old video on the Learning State. This will teach you to expand your peripheral vision, and get you out of a pinched focus, and expand that magnetic sensation. ...Okay, try ALL of that and get back to me. Let me know which part helped you the most. God bless, and I wish you deep success!

Today I happened to press on either side of nose near the eyes. I happened to see bright light which turned into light yellow bright light in front of forehead for some time. When I opened and reclosed my eyes it turned gray. What could this be. I am not seriously into meditation. I can see mahaavatar Balaji,lahari baba and others not in physical form or in third eye .I feel I imagine them. When I try to meditate I see blinking eye or big tunnel in grey can you explain these please

I will feel an intense fluttering in the area of the third eye at times. Sometimes I even see pulsing light when my eyes are closed there. Sometimes when I focus on these feelings I'm not sure what to do about them and they lead to great confusion. I will feel life untouched by thought and I can feel overwhelmed and disturbed. Trying to find my way through it without forcing anything.

If you are entering into silence, where the words cease, then you are beginning to enter absorption, which is the right hippocampus. This can be accompanied by spaciousness as well. A sense of knowing is also found the the right hippocampus. Take your time, as you are already doing very well. Practicing OM japa in each of the 6 chakras in the spine will help to neutralize any unconscious lower projections.

Hi Forrest, Can you please explain the relationship between the pineal gland and the Ajna chakra? I was originally taught that the pineal gland is the Ajna chakra and many advocate the need to decalcify the gland on order to facilitate the process of opening the chakra Thank you
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 4 года назад
Hello! The pineal is the melatonin maker. Which makes it the phase changer. Where it counts is when we meditate in pure dark, and there's some melatonin in the body, it is transferred into DMT, and makes the experience in meditation much easier to immerse into. The experience becomes much more profound and memorable. All very important. ... The Ajna is the right hippocampus primarily. We can know this because of the many descriptions of the Ajna that line up with the work the right hippocampus is doing. The most amazing part of our entire brain.

Am I doing it right or anything else I need to change?
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 6 лет назад
Wow! Great question! It's a little bit complicated to answer, especially since we're not in person. It would help me to know exactly what you're practicing. A magnet at the top of the spine is a very good thing. Most often we are drawn to the lower end of the spine, so getting drawn to the top is WONDERFUL. But this comes with some caveats - warnings. If the pull is at the spiritual eye at the front of the forehead it may overwhelm you. I know yogis who had this happen, and stopped their practice because of it. And if the pull is at the uppermost top of the head, this can also be overwhelming, and may lead to experiencing too much energy all at once, as Gopi Krishna did. SO! WHERE is it safe? It is safe at the Medulla Oblongata, and you can pull the energy down to this center, where it is not quite so overwhelming. So, this is my best advice. Remember the medulla at all times. I hope this was helpful!
@swadeshdatta9221
@swadeshdatta9221 6 лет назад
I mainly center my focus on Ajna Chakra and Crown Chakra. If I meditate on my Ajna Chakra this pulling sensation takes a little longer to happen, but if I center my attention on Crown Chakra, it starts within 5-10 minutes. And one more thing, I feel formication or crawling sensation or tingling on my face mainly on the side of nose (alae nasi) that it becomes irresistible to rub that area and this sensation happens more frequently, almost on a daily basis.
@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 6 лет назад
In that case I recommend that you read Gopi Krishna and his autobiography. It's his first book, and he talks about using that meditation and what the Kundalini did to him. It was overwhelming, and he became stuck in bed. This is the genius of Lahiri Baba's kriya yoga, in that it balances all of the spine, and never stays in one place for a prolonged period. So a technique like that, would be advisable, to give you balance. Otherwise, it sounds like you're doing great. I hope you watch all the videos here, especially those on heart rate variability.

One day I was traveling in a crowded train, standing I started doing this, think about above palate, base of neck, and gradually something happened behind my eyes nerves crossed and there was White very bright light everywhere , It was more frightening and seemed risky to continue, I thought I've broken myself. This often happens to nurses who care for the dying, or to those of us who have hit rock bottom. It can also happen in combination with depression and its medication. On the lighter side, I heard how a lady had this internal awakening while spending every day in a field of endless flowers in the countryside. Any time we deeply introspect and place the mind continuously within we will become aware of internal subconscious processes. That's what you're feeling. The energy of the limbic system is returning to the brain, and you feel it's concentration in deep brain structures. I have quite a few videos that talk about this. Nostril flaring begins to approximate the feeling of that pressure I was writing about. One can flare the nostrils and become aware of one nostril being more closed than the other. By flaring the nostrils to attempt to achieve balance between the two, and by trying to experience the flaring deeper inside the sinus cavity, and through eventually relaxing the flaring sensations at the tip of the nose in favor of the building pressure inside the sinuses, one can begin to make advances toward that magnetic sensation. For a long time I didn’t think I had muscles inside my head, but the sinuses I think are lined with muscles; I think. Anyway, I’m pretty sure this will help a lot of people to be able to move beyond merely eye-crossing to be able to find the actual mudra-i.e. the pressure. Flaring the nostrils deep inside the sinus cavity will significantly increase blood flow in the area and can eventually lead to a head ache if trying to advance too quickly. I have also found that I have built a tolerance to the pressure during the several years this has been happening to me.

@ForrestKnutson
@ForrestKnutson 6 лет назад
Wow! So many questions! Thank you! 1. When we are sick it is advised not to practice meditation. Especially when we have any kind of headache, which would usually include menstruation for women. Best to wait or use another technique, such as the techniques I teach of dilating the eyes. 2. The chakras cannot be simply pointed at. They must be found with the chitta - the heart mind. I've been planning to do a video on this subject, so I will move that up in my lineup. Be sure to hit the bell above so you can be sure not to miss it. :) 3. When we do certain techniques correctly, it activates the parasympathetic, which has the "feed reflex" and gets the body's internal heat system going. This can be felt, and may cause you to burp. I do a certain technique that I do each meditation which causes me to burp as soon as I even begin to think of it, lol. ....By the way, even if it was psychosomatic, it wouldn't matter, as you would still be accomplishing a result within your practice, which will have a lasting and ending result beyond those feelings. ... Also, doubt is a natural part of this process. Even in samadhi we doubt naturally: is this the samadhi I've been hearing about?

I have another problem I feel prickles inside of my body which is given by an entity ,I am clearly aware it is a serpent visible to two eyes not sure about third eye,only visible to me and not to others in my surroundings ,in figure it appears like a dirty ghost ,how can I get rid of it?Few months back I was doing mantra in sunlight in early morning hours ,saw a black figure towards my left talking to me ,not consciously aware what exactly it was may be some ghost.Then on one Sunday a dirty stinking entity appeared in my body in front of my family ,talking very different though I was consciously aware of it ,I feel that entity still strucked in one of my left body channel and when it moves like a serpent inside of me ,I feel dirty smell in my nose,apart from this I am finding few more channels being blocked same like this on my left body part.Its been last April I have been needing proper guidance to get rid of these entities and serpents I see in some brown color. Could you please tell me if my body left or right are balanced .I am not finding any bliss in meditation and not been able to meditate which I was doing for many hours.Needed your guidance to be back on spiritual pathway where I can meditate freely after eliminating these entities from my system.
