Bernardo is the epitome of the white belt that never quit and continues as a black belt who never abandoned the white belt mindset of always learning something new with the positive attitude of a great student...that's jiu jitsu...
I think he meant the series of videos on RU-vid. They are already here and pretty good. Instructional isn't free unfortunately. They need to make a living too
Bernardo is such a nice guy! He looks always so interested in the content he is sharing with us, and looks like a eternal apprentice (wich is awesome for someone who achieve so much as he did). Also Mikey is a very good teacher! You can see that the guy had a long tought process to give the information
This is great, I wonder if he learned the collar sleeve from Roger Gracie, there's a video of Roger giving an explanation of this concept. Makes total sense.
Great video!!! I just started doing collar sleeve this month and I am hooked!!! I also like to learn by concepts to know the why as you mentioned. I find that this way of learning is more effective than just learning the how. Thanks for the great content.
1:32 7:40 ultimate goal is to get their elbow in your lap 3:01 example 5:48 head in line - attack triangle Shoulder in line - attack Omaplata 7:58 using dela riva
The only guard that doesnt need bodytype features, such as long/thin legs or high flexibility. Funny thing is, particularly for me, triangle and omoplata are only a decoy for a straight footlock.
GReat stuff...thank you! I'm still wondering, as a smaller guy, how to prevent the opponent's off hand from stapling the inactive leg. Might anyone have any suggestions for when this occurs (either from the knee or standing)? Thanks again for sharing, Mikey!
If he learned to talk slower and not so spazzy, then he would so much more easy to understand. I have to rewind constantly. But literally mind-blowing.
Plus for this guard's effectiveness, the axis leg must be stiffed and sleeve grip must maintain a high elbow, never allowing your opponent to firm grips on your groin.
Lightbulb moment. I hate the kid but I love him but I hate him but I love his enthusiasm but I hate him. Opened my eyes for sure, still hate him but love him.
