Utthita Parsvakonasana might not be a fan favorite, but this tricky pose is more accessible (and enjoyable) with the right tips to help it feel good in your body.
In this tutorial, we’re showing you how to do UTTHITA PARSVAKONASANA \ EXTENDED SIDE ANGLE POSE A & B, as practiced in Ashtanga's Fundamental Sequence. You’ll learn how to move through the traditional vinyasa cues with the Sanskrit count and asana coordinates for each of these poses. You’ll also see some variations to help you find more stability in your stance and a version we DON’T do in our traditional practice (and why!). We share common mistakes we often see and tips on how to position your body to help with injury prevention. But what happens when you can’t practice the full expression of this pose? You’ll learn what’s happening in that moment (it’s not just physical) and how you can accept that challenge too.

Thanks for this tutorial. I actually really like this posture, the side stretch feels so good. B is a work in progress of course. I really like what you said about meeting the discomfort. This can apply to so many things in life.
