I dodge a lot with my strongest pokemon with trait advantage, not only to keep them alive and deal more damage but to save resources. If the lobby is full plus a few, this doesn't matter as much but if other trainers bring pidgy's to a lugia raid it can actually help everyone win instead of wasting yet another remote raid pass. Side note, I'm almost certain now there are bot lobbies to aid in wasting your resources.
Good info. I always had a hard time dodging because I didn't know about the flash. From now on, I think I will memorize the times on moves that are more problematic for my counters.

Over 1 week of a raid boss being out gives you ample time to learn which is great!
I’ve seen these “anime lines” so many times and it all makes sense now. This will make dodging the really fast charge moves a lot more fair, thanks! The only downside is that if you are using a charged move, you cannot dodge in time (sometimes)
I remember accidentally discovering that you can dodge one raid and ever since have been trying to master it, I was unaware there was a delay between dodges so I was double swiping and wondering why it didn't work half the time 🤣🤣 this is quality content right here! Thank you for making this
Dude, Ive been playing 5 years and you always show me something new. I have all of my friends following you too. I have to practice that swipe at half a second 👍
I've been playing for years and never even noticed the attack lines, thanks for the info. Could you do a video on how to throw excellent balls on lugia or any flying raid bosses? Idk if it's just my phone but every time I try and throw an excellent curve while lugia is up in the air the ball rebounds from the top of the screen and hits the bottom of the circle where its feet is. I usually have pretty good aim but when flying types levitate upwards I can never get the ball in the circle. You make good videos keep it up daxi
I find that with fast moves, it may help to just remember how many fast you can get off in between the Gym/Raid pokemon using it's fast moves. It's usually 2 or 3, and it's worked pretty well for me.
@@mitzki1214 yes my friend ,when raiding with enough people you don't have to dodge and you can do more damage to win quickly. But when you do solo, you don't want every of your pokemon to die with the raid boss focus blasting or hyper beaming causing it to one shot . You want to finish within the given time , so dodging charge attacks is good option, atleast for me.
One of the most underated youtubers you are informative and you are easy to understand not to mention the timestamps keep up the great work hope you get 1 mil subs!
Another tip if it helps to practice….raid bosses ALWAYS automatically do 2 fast moves at the start of each battle 😎….I normally dodge every attack but after this I might just start dodging the charge moves 🤔
You don’t do a lot of damage when dodging every single move which ends up giving u less premier balls And also he didn’t mention but if you get hit by a charge move u are getting energy Since shadow mewtwo gets so much damage I’m literally spamming charge moves with that guy
@@mitzki1214 yeah that’s what I was thinking about the time spent dodging vs time spent attacking makes sense….I never noticed you get energy from getting hit either….nice!
I only dodge when im running a mega. But this seems like a cool thing to try if I can dodge a strong charge move for only 25% damage. Thanks again for another awesome vid.
I just keep moving in circles to dodge everything🤣 tho you can't charge your own charged moves while dodging so that anime flash thingy tip was useful 👍I'll now only focus of charging my own moves and dodge the charged moves.
Also worth mentioning you can’t dodge while using your own charge attack so if you’re expecting a big damage moved rom the raid boss, it’s good to wait and dodge the big damage move before throwing out your own charge attack
I suddenly got to know about it October last year, when Darkrai was in raids & my pokemons weren't that effective to take its the damage I swiped left & right random like a mad man but it actually worked😅.
If you just want to save your Pokemon from dying in raid just use a Pokemon that has resistance to the chraged attacks of the raid boss ,then whenever you Dodge the charge attack then it does almost neglegable damage to your Pokemon thats even lesser than the fast move damage
I struggled so hard dodging the Giga Impact from Regigigas because it hits within such a short time after the text in the corner shows up, and if you fail dodging that by being in the middle of a little Counter, it's pretty much going to OHKO' your Machamps or Conkeldurr or whatever fighters you use. My hundo Metagross (little over lv40 somewhere) came in as recommended after my whole counter team fainted, and lost about 75% or so of its full health from one Giga Impact, which is RESISTED. That stuff was super annoying.
I downloaded the APK version of the game the week before it released on the app stores in north America and I just learned you can dodge... this would have helped so many times it's unbelievable. this is groundbreaking 😂
Nice explanation of the mechanic. I think the only time I'm trying to dodge fast attacks is when I'm low on health but need to survive long enough to let a charge attack go. If either the player or the raid boss initiates a slow charge attack...but then gets killed, does the attack still hit?
I know im late to the hear us niantic but I just have something to say that they should have done to go fest Most of these are for free to play players - They didn’t give us free remote raid passes during Go Fest Day 2 - They should have made it 3 hour incenses and lure modules because it will get too expensive (kinda sucks why they did it on comm days but not go fest) - They didn’t include a shiny boost for Free to play players - There was only 1 time limited research for free to play players and I think it didn’t give us incenses and other stuff I am not hating on Niantic this is only my general opinion about go fest 2021
People wouldn’t buy tickets if there wouldn’t be a special research or some kind of advantage and 5 bucks for an event like this isn’t to much wanted from them tbh
Maybe generalizing it as "Dodging fast moves is not worth it" something like Heavy hitting (but rather slow) fast moves are worth dodging. (Like Gengar vs Mewtwo and M2 has Confusion)
Yeah and if you’re using shadow tyranitar you need to dodge hydro pump. And if you use shadow weavile you basically have to dodge everything since it’s so glassy lol.
dax do u know when they are gonna let you change frustration because I made a shadow nido queen for gbl in great league and gave it earth power and changed frustration and it’s not able to be changed and I was genuinely so sad they need to let us change itt
In raids it is all about DPS with the right group the time you are taking to dodge takes away from your dps. The faster the raid boss is dead the less you would need to dodge...

Problem is dps is high dps pokemon faint faster leading to relobbying which actually ends up taking longer sometimes. With high dps pokemon dodging at least charge moves is definitely recommended
@ yes my first set of pokemon to fight lugia was darmanitan and rampardos. They were one big hit wonders but having the right fast and charged moves up I still was getting 3 to 5 charged hits for each one. So 4 charged hits then next one up.
@ also I found you either have to hit slower that you aren't in the middle of a charged move. When I did try dodging them in the very begining I found if I was tapping to fast the game que's them up and / or you have your charged hit going and you get slammed with the bosses charged move and can't dodge anyway
That's why I always send 1 charge move and wait for the prompt to dodge and then feel out the rhythm so I know when to send the charge room without being rooted and getting hit
