Bro with this trick we can also save our iCloud 5GB storage and save our iCloud Photos in phone storage which users have 256GB storage device (can we do?)

Hello 👋🏻 i’m using iPhone and i want to know if i go to ( settings - icloud - iCloud photos ) and stopped the ( Sync this iPhone ) i removed all the photos from icloud and downloaded them on the phone , but if i lost the phone do i lose the photos too? or it will be saved in the backup?
