It worked, all the other idiots on RU-vid skipped the crucial step of backing your device on iCloud and then restarting your iPhone on their “tutorial” videos.
Yea definitely download at your own risk. That’s why I also said to back up your phone. I downloaded it and haven’t had any issues honestly other than a little worse battery life but nothing horrible
I actually didn’t know about that until a few days ago! Apple didn’t say anything about it. Thanks for letting me know. I think it’s gonna be super useful in certain situations
The backup is just in case the beta is too buggy and you need to revert. It just ensure all your data is saved on a stable version. I’d recommend just doing it so you’re covered
That’s understandable. The AI feature won’t be available in this first beta as far as I’m aware anyway. And to answer you question yes the iPhone XR is supported!
The backup is for safety. If your phone crashes for whatever reason with the iOS beta then you’ll have to do a restore on your phone and if you don’t backup you’ll lose all your contacts and pictures
Because this is the developer beta it’s possible to have bugs and need to restore your phone. Basically some files can get corrupted and even you restore you want to have a backup so that way you can keep all of your contacts and things like that.
is it worth it to download ios 18 beta ? because : 1) it has like 6gb which lis like more than the ios 18 itself ( which i am not sure about , and 2) Some say there might be some errors . I’d like to try ios 18 beta , so hope to get some suggestions
It really depends. Because it’s a developer beta it’s bound to be buggy which is why I recommend to back up your device. I also think it’s super big because it’s a beta but it could also be a thing where all the features and overhauls make it that big. I think if you want to try it, go for it but make sure you backup either on iCloud or your Mac/pc. I won’t be doing it just because the AI features aren’t implemented yet. I think k it will be for the public beta in July. I hope that helps
You will have to factory reset everything on your phone to revert back if ios18 is too buggy and you won’t have any of your apps or contacts saved if you don’t backup
