How to download macOS directly WITHOUT using the App Store 

Doesn't work just gives me a list of other commands to try

This little command did the trick as I was making a bootable image on an external drive to put Mojave back on an old iMAC to donate to someone who might want an older integrated machine for simple tasks.....Thank you so much!!!!

The terminal command worked, however unfortunately all it shows me is High Sierra and Sonoma. I'm trying to downgrade from Sonoma to Monterey. App store doesn't let me download Monterey, just pops open the software update page and says there are no updates (running 14.4 right now) I'm on a early 2011 MBP and Sonoma just is a bit too laggy for my liking.

I have an iMac 2011 and every time I use this command it says “command not found” it works on other devices but not mine. Please help 😢

I need to download Big Sur for my old imac (late 2014) because OS was somehow corrupted. So I tried to download Big Sur on my M1 macbook pro by following your method, but the list doesn't show Big Sur...what should I do now?

I ran the command but somehow I couldn't see the latest version of Venture which is supported on my MacBook Pro 2017.

To begin with, you must advise your viewers about which version of macOS you're using to list and fetch the available installer downloads. Obviously, some of us are using older Macs and don't have the capability to run the Terminal commands you're employing in this video. My reading proves that you must be employing macOS Catalina or a newer version of macOS. How do I know this? Because the Terminal shell you're using is the Z Shell, which is clearly shown at the top of your Terminal command window as "zsh." Many of us with older Macs are using the Bourne terminal shell, which is indicated at the top of our Terminal command windows as "bash." I only know this because I spent my valuable time doing the research. Needless to say, you will not be getting a like or a subscribe from me. Put simply, you have wasted my time.

I got High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, and Monterey on my old 2015 MacBook Air

Does anyone else think it's stupid that Apple doesn't just have simple download links to previous MacOS versions. I'm trying to make bootable USB drives for different MacOS's for my employees MacBooks of various vintage. Running Sonoma, my MacBook is not letting my download MacOS 13.6.3 - the last version of OS13.
