How To Draw and Paint Ears (Tutorial) - Anatomy and Tips

In this tutorial I show you how to draw and paint ears. I have broken down the human ear into 5 separate shapes, so that it's super easy to remember the anatomy. The anatomical parts I am showing you in this video are very simplified and are actually much more complex in reality, but I tried to focus only on the visual aspect and the things that are most important for artists.
I suggest that you do your own studies and fill up a couple of pages in your sketchbook with drawings of ears. This will help immensely in memorizing the anatomy and you'll soon be able to draw and paint realistic ears from imagination!

ericanthonyj not really, i have no problem with the anatomy, but the shading i do is usually not really abrupt enough for them

[Tip]: You can use your pen to eyedrop colors for more accuracy. There is no need to use your finger

Hey there. About your video format: If you want to show people your gesture workflow with procreate or showcase the ipad pro solution then fine. But nothing beats the clarity of a screen recording with nothing in front of the drawing. You can think about alternating both to make it more personnal / close to the audience without sacrificing clarity. What is most valuable to me is how everything you do inspires serenity and skill. These are major ingredients of a mature chanel.

What art apps should I use? I have a Microsoft touch screen detachable laptop

Depends. Do you have a tablet or do you use the touch screen surface for drawing? If you have a tablet, you can try free programs such as Medibang, Sketchbook, Krita, etc. (You can try paid ones, but you can search them for free on google). If you are using the touch feature as a drawing source, then i'd use any sort of drawing app on the Microsoft Store.
