Polychromos or color grip usually. The paper is helios a local brand.

I use Worison charcoal pencils and Faber black colored pencils, but I think the brands are not important.

It's important to know what paper and pencils you are using. Different papers give different results. Contrary to what you stated in the video, they do NOT render the same effect! It would be nice to have some close ups of your drawing so we can see how you do it.

You may or may not be right but he's obviously an expert ... just because every detail isn't perfect in describing things doesn't make him less of one .
