This is the best tutorial on the dribble I have seen. I've been doing magic/card sleights for 10 months now- practice every day after work-- but have bad tendinitis/arthritis in a couple fingers including my index-- But this method gives me the smoothest dribble-- still going to work on it!!! Always love to see you with a deck of cards in your masterful hands CR !!!

I love ellusionist videos, great tutorials, and credits everyone for their work. The only thing i found missing in this tutorial was that for a move like the dribble, it's all about comfort. Everyone i know does it slightly differently, and kinda makes the move unique to them

A quick tip for folks doing the dribble the second way cause I had issues with this. Don't hold the deck with a deep grip. Use a shallow grip on the deck where the deck is just on your fingertips. This will prevent the cards from getting caught on your fingers as you try to release them during the dribble!

I believe there is a critical portion of the tutorial missing. Correct me if you think I am wrong. The deck is stabilized against the base of the thumb that is controlling the dribble. If the deck is just out in the air at the ends of your fingers, you can't control the deck. So the the tips of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers are at the end of the deck that is pointing away from you. The first finger at the second joint is on the top of the cards, at the middle of the outside edge. The thumb is on the outside corner on the edge of the end of the deck that is facing in. The inside corner is pressed against the base of the thumb, more on the top of the deck on that corner. To find the sweet spot, try holding the deck with fingers 2,3 and 4 and the thumb with the 1st finger sticking out straight and not touching anything. You are holding the deck as if you were going to place it in a spectator's hand. Now lower the first finger to touch the deck as Chris shows and pull up with the thumb to get pressure on the deck between the thumb and the 1st finger. The inside corner of the deck will naturally press up against the base of the thumb. As soon as I figured this out, I could do the dribble almost perfectly every time. As you get near the end of the deck, you won't need the balance of the base of the thumb just like you don't need the 3rd (ring) finger. As you hand opens, the last few cards just dribble off the tips of your fingers.

im new to cardistry, and your tips have helped thanx! when i curl my index finger, i don't get as much "force" as when i extend it as you suggest. this is improved my technique immensely! the problem though is i end up slightly bending the top card more often than when i curl my finger. any suggestions to help mitigate this? also what should i do once the card gets a little folded? so far ive just sort of been shuffling it into the deck and trying to dovetail it out. greetz! 🖤🃏
