Are you building a camper van or working on another engineering project using 80/20 10 Series extruded aluminum and want to use hidden end fasteners? Here is how to use the jig and drill bit sold by 8020.net to create an access hole in 80/20 10 Series extruded aluminum.
Please clamp your aluminum to your workbench for drilling. If you have soft pad clamps (like Irwin brand) you may not need to protect your aluminum. If you have a metal bench clamp, use a couple scraps of cardboard or cloth between the clamp and your aluminum to protect it from scratches.

I think you should retitle this video to mention the jig in the title... glad I found you. thanks, easy quick video and to the point.

Thanks for the compliment and suggestion. I mention the jig in the description; hopefully that's enough to get RU-vid to pick that up for the search algorithm.

You could make your own by using a small cut off of the 8020, run the turn or mark it ... if you use the 90 on each side it can slide.

I prefer the factory precision done for me :)

Yes that working too , but after fews holes alu piece will become enlarged and no longer precise . a steel sleeve into a real jig is the reason why it's more durable

Have you tried to make your own angle brackets by cutting the 80/20 with 45-degree ends? You can order them and have the pilot holes predrilled, but it would be great to make your own out of scrap cut offs? I have been looking for a way to drill the pilot holes at 45-degrees.

This level of engineering is not for me. The people at 8020 have the solution perfected and for the number of 45 degree angles I will use, I'm happy to buy them pre-fab. Best of luck!

I like your instructional videos very helpful as I plan my Ford transit buildout. I noticed your work bench behind you during this video. Do you happen to have plans for building the workbench? I would be interested in it/those. Thanks

Hi. Are you referring to the cabinets against the wall in the background? Fix This Build That on RU-vid is where I got those plans. I had to make my own decisions as to the space between for the miter station. I put 2-3 layers of water based poly on all the cabinetry, probably 3 for sure on the tops. The peg board frame is from scratch using poplar.

Curious, if I redid a hole out of miss measuring how could I possibly hide the mistaken hole or fill it for visual purposes. Is cutting a new excursion the only way?

Depends on how you are using the extrusion I suppose. 8020 sells plastic covers to put into the t-slots.

hi , what is the thing you put between your bolt and tapped alumunium profile? is that some kind of elastic fastener ?
@VanTransitions

I'm not sure what you are referring to. There are no elastic fasteners. What time stamp in the video? Could you describe what you see a bit more?

I was looking at a jig for the 10 series it was $103 on another website, what did you pay for your jig?

I jumped on the 8020 web site and the drill jigs there are in the $30 range.

Yes, I was going to recommend going to 8020.net direct.
